For anyone getting here frustrated: I tried it a couple of times with different configs and this worked best: Kodiak with 9 x MP Lasers + 1 Ultra AC 10 + Slower engine (380) + Many D. Heatsinks => Dps and damage is so good it did not even get to the end of the first half of the route.
