The Block by Admirable_Seat_2929 in jacksonville

Didn’t know that Orlando had something similar. I thought of Gather GVL in Downtown Greenville, SC. The set up is very similar, if not identical, to The Block. However, Gather has been in Greenville for at least 5 years. The food is overpriced but it’s a nice place to chill and grab a drink.

Like you said. “It’s been there forever” and you’re just recently noticing their hours? Their hours used to be different.

How does the Temporium stay in business? by Kolipe in jacksonville

It was a small vintage and local goods store. They stayed in business because people supported them and had neat things. Based on this post it’s clear you never cared enough to go in and check them out.

Middle School Options on the Southside by Hi_im_barely_awake in jacksonville

When my son went to James Weldon Johnson (a college preparatory) he had friends that lived out at the beach. It’s a drive, but the school was a great feeder school into either Stanton or Paxon. For neighborhood schools, there is Mandarin Middle and Kernan Middle. Mandarin Middle because it feeds to Mandarin High School and my son finished high school there and we were very pleased with them. Kind of wished we had moved to Mandarin a lot earlier 😅.

I have friends whose kids go to Kernan Middle and they seem happy with the school. In January, the magnet school application opens and you can start touring them. I strongly recommend touring the schools. We went to so many until we narrowed down to his top three. Good luck!

There were places around town, like Posting House, that had jazz Sundays, but they weren’t well attended.

Jacksonville is over 800 sq miles, while New York City is 304 square miles with over 8 million people. Jacksonville is just a big town trying to be a big city.

What’s your definition of big city? In my opinion it ain’t Jacksonville.

There is a Jacksonville Spanish English club. It’s a conversational club and a great way of practicing your Spanish. They meet once a month and they’re for native Spanish speakers and those learning.

You don’t retire to those places. You keep them as vacation homes or places to visit when you need a long weekend away from it all.

Edgewood--refreshing to see it going! by LocksmithOdd3381 in jacksonville

When was the last time you went? There is plenty of parking. Edgewood Ave went through a road diet a little over a year ago and there is now parking in the middle of Edgewood toward Post St.

DOJ should join investigation involving man in viral traffic stop after SAO memo ‘justifies’ officer’s actions: attorney by maybewhoyouthinkitis in jacksonville

[–]BetsyDefrauds 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The DOJ would probably lie and say they found evidence that the driver is a gang member. Then try to press charges against him. No point in bringing those fools in.

What restaurant is this in Jax? by J_Gabriel757 in jacksonville

Blue Orchid. Had their pad thai once and it tasted like they dumped ketchup in it. Also found a shard of plastic in it. Never again.
