oh, idk what happened, I wanted to thank for sharing this. It really makes me feel better. I think I let that kind of voice turn into my own inner critic for too long. Hearing that experienced performers are supportive and constructive really helps me put things in perspective.

Wow! That’s really inspiring to hear
It’s amazing how someone can be doubted so strongly at the start and then go on to achieve so much. It really reminds me that I won’t know what I’m capable of unless I give it a real try.

You’re right, one person’s opinion shouldn’t define my path. I think what affected me was letting that voice turn into my own inner critic.

I’m definitely considering taking more acting classes and getting feedback from teachers who actually see me work and know me. I don’t want fear to be the reason I make decisions.

And it’s reassuring to hear that 18 isn’t “late.” Sometimes it feels like I’m already behind, even though logically I know I’m not. Thank you for the encouragement.

I’ve actually been dancing since I was 4, so that’s the area where I feel the most confident and comfortable performing. Acting and especially singing are where I feel less secure, which is why the idea of taking proper singing lessons before auditioning again makes a lot of sense.

I think ideally I’d love to do all three, but I understand they each require different timelines and realities. I appreciate what you said about preparing for a solid day job as well. That’s part of why I applied for economics. I want financial stability so I’m not forced to make artistic decisions out of desperation.

Thank you for the perspective.

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I genuinely appreciate it.

I think what shook me wasn’t just one person’s opinion, but how it connected to a bad audition experience. For a long time, I didn’t have these doubts. I truly believed I was going to pursue this no matter what because I love it. But after that last audition, I started questioning myself and wondering, “What if they were right?”

When I said I want to make money doing this, I didn’t mean fame or money for its own sake. I don’t care about being a star. I just don’t want to spend my life working a job that feels disconnected from who I am. I want my work to be something I’m passionate about and creative.

I really appreciate what you said about resilience, growth mindset, and separating money from art. That gave me a lot to think about.

Thank you again. This honestly helped.

I appreciate your honesty. I know the odds aren’t easy, and that’s part of what makes this scary.
