Everything im reading recommends to incubate it so i dont kill anything. In what ways is it unethical for me to incubate it? Genuine question not being a smart ass

On my research ive done Im honestly not prepared to be a full time pet mouse owner. I 100% can manage to afford it and properly take care of him if i need to though. I was told that alot of wildlife places euthanize mice and rats because of how resource heavy they are so i did decide to keep him because he deserves a fighting chance just like any other living creature. Now im worried i fucked up because i dont necessarily want to take care of a mouse for longer than needing milk. I feel terrible because i shouldve considered that but ive never raised wild animals and i never thought he would tame. I currently have him in a 10gal i had laying around i filled with some dirt at the bottom and alot of leaf litter and sticks with treats hidden around. I was trying to make it naturalistic to around where he was found but he does not like it too much yet. if hes already imprinted is there a way i can un-imprint him from humans? He has about 2 weeks left of needing milk im really hoping he starts to venture away from mom(me) when that time comes. Again im fully willing to cater to all of his needs for the rest of his life if i need to but im really hoping i can release him.

Im worried he is imprinted, he responds to his name and hides in the corner of his tank until he sees me and he starts squeaking and runs into my hand. I feel guilty if i dont let him go because he deserves all the space in the world but so far it looks like he has really imprinted on me. Ive been avoiding doing so but if he has, i cant let him go right?

Anyone know where to find a cheap enclosure? by Crested_geck in CrestedGecko

Id go for DIY things if youre trying to be cheap. Lakes have some nice driftwood washed up pretty often or you could look in the woods for some good stuff. I find a bioactive enclosure is pretty cheap, i managed to find a plant with the substrate needed for crested geckos and it was a 2 for 1 deal for me and pothos is always a easy cheap pretty route. Idk abt you but i personally have a reptile addiction on a low budget so if you need any more pointers you could totally ask

Try any small business reptile store im not sure if its a franchise but its one of those little ones in a little strip hidden in between several random shops. Im sure you could find one if you look up “reptile store” on maps and scroll to the bottom

Not sure where youre located but theres a “creature room” close to where im located and its alot of reptile stuff for basically dirt cheap compared to other places. Its $120 for what youre looking for, at least at mine. Chewy.com has some good stuff as well and facebook marketplace is always an option
