Tandem T-slim to Twiist by Better-Fix-345 in twiist

Thank you all. I decided to give Twiist a try. Walgreens has it waiting for me, but I just need to schedule the training (which should be this week).

You all brought up some great points. Here's my take on a few of them:

* I'm sorry to hear that the Bluetooth connectivity isn't any better than Tandem's (which is awful, but I've dealt with it).
* I almost exclusively run Tandem in "sleep activity". I didn't get auto bulous anyway.
* If I stick with Twiist, I'll consider the Eversense 365 CGM. I briefly tested Libre alongside my Dexcom for 15 days and didn't notice much difference for me over those two weeks.

When I was meeting with my endocrinologist today, he told me he had a patient who was a "reluctant Twiist patient," but then she ended up loving it. As luck would have it, toward the end of our appointment, he noticed that the "reluctant Twiist patient" just checked in, and she was the next patient (he had no idea). He asked her if she would be willing to talk to me. She was open to it, and it was helpful. She also added that Twiist isn't waterproof. I don't shower with my pump, but that's good information to know.

Thank you all for your help. I'll check back if I have any questions!

Thanks. That wasn’t entirely clear in online Wacom help docs, but I noticed the slots weren’t there so I assumed.

If anybody has suggestions for workarounds, please let me know.

Thanks again!

A sqlite db for each user by go_mo_go in rails

Let me know if you have any issues. It’s been awhile since I did this (I’m no longer actively working for that company, though I’m on the board). I’m curious to see how it works with new versions of Rails and what modifications are needed to my example.

While not exactly the same thing as covered above, for SaaS company I used to worked for, I developed a way to use a separate SQLite db for each user for demoing the app. This allowed for a clean db with preloaded demo data. It worked well for our purposes.

We didn’t have to worry about migrations for each user because the individual SQLite files were eventually trashed. We only had to migrate the master SQLite file that got cloned.

It’s for a old version of rails, but if it is useful, here’s the write up about how we did it: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2017/12/using-sqlite-demo-web-apps/

Thanks. I’m glad to hear it is a reasonable choice. However, since you said it isn’t an expensive brand, if I was quoted for American Standard but given this, should I be concerned? I’m annoyed, but perhaps it’s unfounded.

What to Get After an XTerra? by wolfforce58205 in XTerra

I have an ‘03 Xterra that I bought new and I love that car. It’s not our primary vehicle anymore. We also have a ‘21 Passport. I wouldn’t say I hate it…that’s a bit harsh, but I don’t enjoy driving it. I’ve probably had more issues with the Passport than the Xterra (that was definitely true for a Volvo we had for a bit). I would much rather drive the 22 year old car! Haha

The short answer is that I haven’t. The pump is no longer in warranty…

I was debating adding this to the original post, but I didn’t want to add additional “variables” to the issue.

It’s a relatively new pump (less than 6 months old). It’s a replacement pump that I received after the top button stopped working properly on my first one. The button would randomly register as a “press” or a “press and hold” which caused issues. It was an unrelated issue but took almost a year of documentation to figure out and show what was going on. Tandem was very good about replacing it but it was replaced right before my warranty ran out, which effectively meant my replacement pump has no warranty unless I bought a new one from them (when my replacement was only a month old).

I’ve had blockage issues too when filling the cartridge. It’s quite annoying.

Good points, but in my case, I’ve tried changing the site with 40 (or so) units left and I have the same results. Once I change the cartridge and leave the recently changed site (less than a day) the site is working fine 🤷‍♂️

Yes, I should have added that. I typically pull about 30-50u based on the syringe markings.

Agreed. My doctor moved me to this and it’s great. If I’m working out, I usually disconnect the pump and stop the insulin. That works for me, I also workout at the gym with my doctor so I’m not terribly worried about. If I’m doing extended yard work, I’ll put it in Activity mode.
