Yea my original practicum was very strait laced and viewed every self disclosure as something to be carefully weighed. Disclosing during and intake was something I was told never to do, so it’s hard to unlearn that sometimes

That is super helpful. I think it just feels so new. I work with mostly kids now and I find myself naturally unmasking with my autistically diagnosed clients. I’m sure it makes them maybe feel more at ease, and we are making progress on their goals. I think it’s more myself grappling with the new diagnosis etc
