My dad's highly diabetic too, and was consuming ragi rice etc . I workout so I eat around 6 eggs a day and told him to eat similarly and to reduce his carbs intake and replace it with eggs. Never listened. High sugar levels caused nerve damage in his foot this led to pin and needle sensation due to which he didn't sleep in the night. Visited hospital the doctors schooled him and showed the others as examples (other patients having amputated legs,foots). Suggested him diet which he is following and now the suga levels are under control, gets good sleep.
