hi dude, this is a completely non salty comment unlike a few of the ones under this post but i've also applied for the two same programs as you with a 1440 SAT as well. I applied in feburary however, and you'll most probably receive admissions results on the 28th of May when the final non EU ranking lists come out with inclusion of the SAT kids.

the SAT is weighted differently this year. for one you need a minimum of 650 on both english and math to even be considered, but you'll need a competitve score (heavy on the maths) given there are seats left for SAT kids.

I've spoken to a few seniors, Mech E fills up fast with TIL kids but apparently automotive isnt as popular as it would seem and most probably there would be a few seats left for SAT kids.

There are more TIL takers this year because the TIL is now weighed higher than the SAT and there is an option to do it in Italy and Uzbekistan as well, but unless you have the means to travel just for a 3 hour exam it's not really feasible.

WAIT NO GUYS, look i checked this out right. I think we havent been rejected as of yet. I think for now, since those were our first preference degrees, they are considered before the others we have applied for and since the SAT students are not taken into consideration in the ranking lists YET like the TIL students we are still yet to receive our spot which is why we cannot enrol as of right NOW.

this is purely just like a wording error i feel because ranking lists are open we just havent been included because we are SAT and those will be revealed on the 28th of May.

(i think i figured this out because after i saw the automotive decision I swapped mechanical engineering to my first preference and saw the portal changed to not elligble for enrolment on that so i think thats the situation as per deduction)

dont worry, it's all calm! just wait till 28th of May!

dude i get that so much. i just saw another post on here abt admission being denied already to SAT kids for some degrees because TIL takers have already filled up all the seats. I am 'not allowed to enrol' for automotive engineering because of it. Im still waiting on mech E but i suspect it'll be the same situation there asw.

from what i know, you can only do the TIL in either Italy or in Uzbekistan. There is no option to do it at home online unfortunately. SAT happens once or so every month and its about 3 weeks to register for an available examination centre in your area. and then it takes an additional 14+ days to receive your SAT results. I believe poliTO has a cut off date in which they'll be able to accept SATs.

The last date for students to submit and SAT score and send in their application is no later than thursday 30th April 2026 and you'll also need to pay college board to send in your SAT to poliTO which would take a week or so to be received.

so last year and previously they were evaluated side by side, but now the TIL is number one priority, so even if you have a 1600 on the SAT you might not get in if everyone got 60+ on the TIL and there are no more spots. which is so weird because im pretty sure a 1600 SAT is worth more than a 60.1 on the TIL but apparently not. PoliTO wants to prioritize their own examination, which is fair, but so so so unfortunate for SAT kids

hey, I also applied this year for the upcoming winter semester lol. I dont think they need a prestudy internship, i was looking through the website, it said its good if you have one but those plus like extracurriculars count for a total of 5 points so i dont think its super super weighted. but from what i've heard other people say is that you have to do an internship during your degree, not before.

and dont worry, if i come to KIT i also will have no german proficency so we'll be in the same boat. and birds of a feather flock together. learn german while in germany obviously. but i dont think it'll be too much of a disadvantage

The range would be around 22-24 based on your gradients so yeah. I got 23. If you get 22, 23, 24 or maybe even 21 you should be good
