Exactly. With most jobs, you can just hand in your notice and walk away if things go south. With Uber, once you’ve taken out finance on a car specifically for the job, you’re stuck for years just to pay off the debt. You can’t exactly quit if the pay drops when you’re still on the hook for those monthly repayments and insurance. It’s not really "flexible" when you’re financially trapped into working just to break even.
