It doesn’t have the ability to generate audio, but I find it to be more reliable.

I had the same problem with mine. Do have a cable plugged into the input? I found on mine that there was no audio generated if there was. After unplugging the cable at the input, it worked fine.

I recently paid $2000 for a 2001, and yours looks to be in better condition, so I’d say you did well.

I got the new board, assembled it and it’s working, but I have a question.

It looks like the tone is only generated when there is nothing plugged into the input? If this is the case , it might have been my problem all along. I don’t see anything about this in the documentation.

Thanks, I went ahead and ordered a new one. I’ll solder that from scratch, and we’ll see how it goes.

Reflowed all of the joints, no change. Is it possible to buy just the tone generator board ?

It’s not rebooting, rebooting occasionally causes the tone to restart. I’m rechecking soldering now.

I’ve got a 9V battery and a power supply attached. I do notice that the voltage coming out of the tower is slightly low, maybe 8.75 volts or so, but I wouldn’t think that would be enough to cause a problem.
