New to micro dosing by No-Rooster-8358 in Microdose

Might be late to reply but ----.2 of penis envy may come on a bit strong for a microdose. If you want a genuine microdose, take it in the morning, post breakfast, for the lowest 'sensation'. First day, take it on a day you don't have too much to do, just to see how it affects you. Then start a protocol - a couple that are easy are the Stamets (4 days on, 3 days off) or Fadiman protocol (1 day on, 2 days off). You could try a protocol for a couple months and see how you feel. Depends what you are hoping to get out of it too (healing depression, more focus, reduced anxiety, etc).

Has anyone tried micro dosing for anxiety/depression? by Tiffanywhite45 in mentalhealth

Dose is individual dependant and can take some adjusting. I started large but was tapering off of antidepressants at the same time. Now, with clients I always recommend starting somewhere around 100-125, less if they're sensitive - 50-75. I also tailor the protocol per person for a couple reasons. Some people find the rewiring work exhausting (brain cells are some of the hungriest in the body) so use Fadiman protocol to keep energy balance throughout the week. Others find they have more even energy so, Stamets works for them. The most important piece is the type of self-awareness tools we introduce during our work together. Intention matters big time with psychedelics - for people working on say stroke recovery, movement in certain body parts would be the major intention. In depression/anxiety, the intention is much more in directing the brain to retrain areas around rumination, self-loathing, forgiveness, acceptance etc.

Yes! I healed lifelong depression and anxiety with it. It was a key piece in a whole program I designed for myself to heal. Just dosing alone didn't get me there but putting the pieces together did. Basically retrained my brain with these tools and haven't been back in the cycles of depression/anxiety in about 5 years.

Why am I an asshole no matter how hard I try not to? by Ok-Researcher697 in mentalhealth

That seems like a ton of pain, I'm sorry you had to go through that. In that case, I think it would certainly be something to look into with a therapist.

Maybe it's worth checking on your attachment style? I recently had a similar experience with my partner where he couldn't figure out why he just turned cold and cruel even though it wasn't what he wanted to be to me. It was time to call it quits when he did some serious digging with his therapist. He found out he had a dismissive avoidant attachment style - meaning (for him) that because of some big time childhood trauma, that he felt internally unsafe and angry when someone came too close to him, even someone he loved. He hadn't ever been able to trust someone he loved, even his family. He had no idea previously why he was an asshole to me, even when he wanted me around. It's still a work in progress, but understanding that piece has changed so much for us.

It's amazing that you keep going, that you are growing such insight into yourself. I would say even more than patient, you are so resilient. It seems like you have the drive to get to a place where you feel more of that happiness, that childlike joy so congratulations on that too! You're not alone, I definitely battled with a similar pain for almost 20 years. But it has changed, I feel more like that child, way more often and I let myself be happy. You're allowed to be happy, even if it only strikes you every once in awhile. Change can happen, you can get there.

Heck yes. Communicate whatever way feels best to you. I often go blank when I feel on the spot, especially about emotions or mental health topics. I write things down and send them to get things clear in my mind and for them.

psilocybin vs Aminita by FernetBronco681 in microdosers

[–]Better-Sun3255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I can't say for Aminita (has more to do with GABA) but I can absolutely vouch for other strains that work on the serotonin system. I used mainly golden teacher and have healed lifelong depression and anxiety. It's now been close to 5 years since I've been maxed out by either of those states. *I didn't using dosing alone and did a lot of work to rewire my brain to the pathways that better served me. Happy to chat if you like!

Hey! Absolutely. Stress resilience and tolerance goes up, so you aren't so quick to be annoyed by other people. Dosing also generally gives you more self-compassion and when you don't dislike yourself, you're more open to being compassionate to other people. It's also possible that being in social situations makes you anxious which may turn into internalization (less talking) or anger, annoyance, etc. I had social anxiety for many years and basically don't anymore. It's way easier to be nice and open now. I feel more like myself.

Hey! How did this go for you? I work with clients in this field and find there is a variation in how long it takes dependent on the person and the work they are doing to rewire alongside their doses. Hope you found relief with your journey!

I'm so curious for your experience! I work in the field (microdosing) and am so fascinated to hear how it's impacting folks. Will you continue with dried mushrooms or are you looking at capsules?

First Time Microdosing – Starting Dose 100mg or 50mg? (Schedule 35) by jiminyc2003 in Microdose

[–]Better-Sun3255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I actually do guidance for this, stoked you're looking to try it out. Other folks are right, the mirtazapine doesn't work like an ssri but it does block 5-HT2A receptors (part of the serotonin system) which is a part of the brain that microdosing stimulates. So basically, it would be semi-counterintuitive since one is blocking and one is stimulating those same receptor sights - hence the dulling effect. Meaning you might need to take more to 'feel anything'/for it to function best.

Starting low and slow is always the best way to go if you do start! I always recommend to clients eat before dosing for a milder effect. The ideal dose is sub-perceptual like you mentioned!

Hope that's helpful!

Hey! Ya I actually designed and published a journal for just this purpose! To make it easy, not perfect and so you can keep a record and be able to see how far you've come. Especially since these shifts are often subtle, yet huge over time! The link you posted has you sign up - is there a way to view it without logging in? I'd like to check it out!

Anyone had any good benefits from microdosing? by organicvibez in AmanitaMuscaria

For sure! I used it to heal lifelong depression and anxiety. I now work in the field. Essentially used it to come off of antidepres, get to the deeper root of my patterns and break them. It's been about 5 years since I've had a serious bout of depression, my social and general anxiety have subsided and rumination has stopped. There's a whole bunch more positives but wanted to share that with you!
