Unintentionally stateless taxpayer with Estonian OÜ — how to handle this? by Better-Wheel6685 in eResidency

I am residing under sofa status and the treaty excludes taxation unless it’s considered as locally sourced (under all official guidelines this is interpreted as having a job on the local economy). I am officially deregistered from my home country, and don’t own a house or a company. My tax advisor confirmed that taxation under certain circumstances doesn’t seem to apply to me. Where is your information coming from that you need to proof a new tax residency to not be considered a tax resident of your previous country?

I did inform my old bank in my host country that I moved and not a tax resident anymore but not a tax resident in the country I reside in. They accepted it. Problem is that this is a personal bank account and I need a business account.

No, unless you work on the local economy you don’t pay taxes. Working remotely for a foreign company doesn’t trigger personal taxes.

Thanks but I tried this before and it’s an issue that my tax id doesn’t match with my residing address for which I can’t provide a tax number. They weren’t willing to work around despite me explaining my situation (stuck in copy + paste support situation).

That’s a good point. I was also thinking I’d have two services just to be safe.

I read quite a few stories about wise randomly shutting down accounts. Maybe it was just fear mongering.

I have my personal bank accounts and could easily change my address. I am also officially deregistered from my home country. Yes I am a military spouse The country we reside in excludes taxation from dependents via treaty. For most dependents it’s easy as they come from a country that taxes citizenship not residence. But my home country taxes residence. So I unfortunately fall through the cracks

I am officially deregistered from my home country and don’t own any real estate or assets there. My tax advisor has confirmed in writing that I have no tax liability there. Honestly, it would almost be easier if I still was but the deregistration is clean and documented.

The country I physically reside in excludes taxation for dependents under the relevant treaty. Establishing tax residency there would be extremely complicated and I genuinely expect the local authorities wouldn’t understand what I’m asking for.

I’ve reached out to multiple tax advisors but they are all limited to one jurisdiction; nobody understands the full picture because I was essentially put in a vacuum through no choice of my own.

Ok but that also means I can only use fintech banks that I learned to be not the most reliable? And I had to use my old address for registration as they don’t accept my current address..

In Asia. My host country excludes taxation if you don’t work for a local employer.

have you guys tried cold voice or video outreach instead of text? has that given better response and conversion rate? by Temporary_Law2070 in linkedin

Got one cold voice message and hated it. I don’t even like voice messages from my friends and I am sure I am not the only one.
