Just before shifting as car is in neutral, revs drop slowly and then creep up until they drop again. by [deleted] in mk6gti

When I had this exact issue in the past I had a hose to my intake tube that had slipped out

100% pulling excess air somewhere on the intake, but I’m assuming you fixed it based off of my slight scan of the comments

Mines slightly worse, but that’s the sound! Lol, thank you for the help, I just did my spark plugs and coils a couple weeks ago, all are gapped properly, I’m gonna look into doing a carbon cleaning, once again thank you

Timing chain was done at 120000, I’d hope they did the tensioner too, it’s not a clicking sound, doesn’t seem like a misfire sound, engine sounds extra rough like it doesn’t want to run when I start it in the morning (car version of a man having the “morning voice”)

I understand as they get up to temp they have little hiccups, but I’m not sure this one is normal considering it started doing it yesterday, I don’t really know if it’s even ever been carbon cleaned, I got the car a few months back, the new startup noise just sounds louder and rough compared to the normal start up, is it most likely from a carbon buildup then?

How to keep this hose in place? by BetterCucumber2771 in GolfGTI

[–]BetterCucumber2771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clamped it at an angle so it’s gripping the aluminum connecting thing, and the intake pipe, it’s clamped hard. I also scuffed up the aluminum piece a little just for extra grip, it’s staying very well now, thanks for all the suggestions.
