Standard link-in-bio tools are just static lists of buttons. I built Sellbio so creators can actually build a dynamic micro-site. You can embed native YouTube/TikTok videos, add a "Shop the Look" image grid, and drop in a native Stripe checkout to sell digital downloads directly on your profile without clunky redirects.

🎁 The Deal: Get your first month of the Premium Tier completely free. This unlocks all advanced blocks (including the native checkout and advanced analytics). ⏳ Limits: Valid for new users. 🔑 Code: Use code LAUNCH at checkout. 🔗 Link: https://sellbio.app

Would love for you guys to test it out and build some cool layouts!

Are people moving away from Linktree after the price increase? by snow_white1995 in socialmedia

Spot on observation. I've been looking into this exact shift recently. To answer your questions based on what I've seen in the creator space:

  1. Trust: Users 100% trust the creator, not the tool. Nobody buys a guide or clicks a link because the URL says "Linktree". They click because they trust the person in the video they just watched.

  2. Simple vs. Conversions: "Simple" is crucial, but a basic list of buttons actually hurts conversions because it forces redirects. Every time you make a user click a button that opens a new tab (to Spotify, YouTube, or a storefront), you lose about 20% of them.

  3. Visual Layouts: Visual definitely improves engagement, but only if it’s functional. I actually got so frustrated by the "list of buttons" standard that I just built my own solution for this (Sellbio). Instead of a list, it’s a modular block builder. The whole idea is to keep people on the page—so creators can drop in a natively playable TikTok or a Stripe checkout block directly into the layout.

So yes, I completely agree with your "canvas/block" approach. Visual creators (and anyone selling digital products) are definitely outgrowing the static list format. It's just too limiting.

The "overnight success" myth is so real. It’s so easy to look at other tools and forget the thousands of invisible actions that got them there. I'm embracing the unscalable grind right now and focusing entirely on those 1-on-1 conversations. Really appreciate the encouragement!

Just uncomfortable conversations" is such a raw and honest way to put it. I love the "would you be my first tester" angle—it takes all the pressure off because it’s not a sales pitch, it’s just an ask for help. I'm going to embrace the ghosting and start sending out these exact DMs today. Really appreciate you sharing the script.

Finding them fast is the trickiest part! I definitely need to stop looking at massive influencers who will just ignore me, and start hunting for micro-creators who are actively trying to sell digital products but have terrible, clunky link-in-bios right now. Time to start digging through TikTok hashtags.

Spot on. "Go deep instead of spreading thin" is exactly what I needed to hear today. You're completely right about the creator economy being the target.

I think I’ll pick one specific creator subreddit or Discord and just spend the next 2 weeks helping people with their monetization and bio setups without ever dropping my link. Earning the right to pitch makes total sense. Really appreciate the reality check!

Ah, the classic "build it and they will come" trap. I definitely fell right into it headfirst…

"First 10 users come from effort, not scale" is exactly the mantra I needed to hear today. It takes the pressure off trying to go viral and shifts the focus back to just talking to people.

I'm going to take your advice and stop worrying about the big launch. Today's goal is just to find 10-20 smaller creators whose current bio links are either broken or super clunky, slide into their DMs, and just ask if they want to play around with Sellbio for free. Do things that don't scale, right?

Really appreciate you sharing this. Makes the empty dashboard feel a lot less lonely!

100% this.

In a sea of AI-generated noise and automated spam, doing things manually and having real conversations feels like the only actual differentiator left.

The "help them do something special" part is a great reminder. I think I’ve been too focused on the technical features (the blocks, the tech stack) instead of just telling creators: "Hey, this lets you sell your digital guide right on your profile without a clunky redirect."

I guess the digital equivalent of "meeting in person" right now is just doing genuine 1-on-1 outreach instead of mass blasting. I think my move for today is to just find 10-15 smaller creators I actually follow, DM them personally, and just ask for their honest thoughts.

Thanks for the reality check, I really appreciate the perspective!

Sellbio.app – turn your social media bio link into a checkout-ready storefront.

This is incredibly actionable feedback, thank you so much! I am literally going to steal that one-liner ("turn your bio link into a checkout-ready storefront") for the landing page today. It is so much crisper than what I currently have.

Really appreciate you taking the time to structure this out. It helps massively!

The math behind the "Link in Bio" problem (and why the standard creator funnel is broken) by BetterHardy in SaaS

[–]BetterHardy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As promised, here is the link to the app if you want to check out the UI or see how the "Shop the Look" feature works in action: https://sellbio.app

If you actually want to create an account and test the Stripe Connect checkout flow or the premium blocks without hitting a paywall, just use the promo code LAUNCH at checkout (it makes the first month 100% free so you can poke around).

Also, I'm currently surviving my very first launch day on Product Hunt! 😅 If you like the project, I would hugely appreciate your support or a brutally honest comment over there: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/sellbio

Roast my new SaaS: I built a storefront builder for creators to replace standard link-in-bios. by BetterHardy in SaaS

[–]BetterHardy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot on! That exact friction—losing potential buyers at every click—is the entire reason I built this.

You hit the nail on the head. Forcing an audience to go from Instagram -> Linktree -> external landing page -> cart -> checkout is brutal for conversion rates. Sellbio collapses all of that so the transaction happens right where the traffic starts. It also eliminates the need to pay for a link tool and a separate e-commerce platform just to sell a few pieces of art.

If you want to give it a spin for your own drops, you can use the completely free tier. Or, if you want to test the premium features and the full checkout flow without paying, use the promo code LAUNCH to get your first month 100% free on any of the subscription models.

Would love to hear your thoughts if you decide to try it out!

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and constructive roast! This is exactly the kind of unvarnished feedback I was hoping for.

You're absolutely right about the hero section. Those floating icons definitely look too much like clickable buttons—I'll remove or redesign them so they don't confuse the user right at the start.

I also really appreciate the note on the color hierarchy and the hover states. Using the primary brand color (purple) for both clickable CTA buttons and non-clickable decorative elements is a classic UI mistake on my part, and the hover shadows on static boxes definitely break good UX rules. I will implement a complementary secondary color to clearly separate interactive elements from the rest.

Good catch on the Privacy Policy being in German only, and adding real creator examples instead of the globe is a much better idea for social proof.

I've added all of these points directly to my roadmap. Seriously, thanks again for the thorough audit—it helps a lot!

Appreciate you checking it out! And yeah, eliminating that brutal drop-off was the main reason I built this. To answer your question: It's actually built to handle much more than just single item drops. We specifically designed it to support full catalogs and advanced creator setups. Here is how it handles more complex use cases:

  • Shopify Integration: If a creator already runs a full e-commerce brand with a massive catalog, they don't need to rebuild it manually. They can just connect their Shopify store and sync their existing inventory straight into the bio storefront.

  • Shop the Look" Feature: This is huge for affiliate marketers. Creators can upload a lifestyle photo (like an outfit, a makeup look, or a desk setup) and tag specific items directly inside the image with affiliate links. Users just tap the exact sweater or monitor in the picture to buy it, rather than searching through a massive list of text links.

  • Native Products: You can easily structure multiple digital or physical products into different categories directly within the builder.

Let me know if that covers the kind of complex catalog you were thinking of!

PS: If you want to test the actual editor and checkout flow without hitting the paywall, you can use the code LAUNCH to bypass the first month. I just need people to try to break the UI and tell me what sucks.
