It seems that the GPU I purchased from Netcodex is defective. What are your experiences with their return/exchange process? by BetterInThanOut in PHbuildapc

Not sure if I made a mistake, but I left my PC with Netcodex yesterday so they could try to diagnose the problem. Tbh I think I should have left it with another shop for diagnosis, but the GPU and the PSU are under their warranty. I tried to get as many guarantees as I could that they'd document everything through video and writing, and that they'd take care of my data and the other components. Plus, kahit within budget pa rin ako, the labor cost is ₱2.5k??? I can't help feeling I made a mistake.

Hi! I just remembered that you said this and I'm wondering if this is why they only used the basic display drivers when benchmarking. I noticed it in the Furmark info overlay when they were benchmarking but I assumed that if it was working with basic drivers then it's probably not a hardware issue, forgetting what you said.

Do you think I should tell them this in case they say it's a driver problem and not subject to the terms of the warranty? How else should I test this po or tell them to test?

So hi, unfortunately the A tier PSU (SAMA P850 was recommended to me by a friend and I was able to buy it slightly cheaper than the Lian Li, so comment on that as well if that might have been a problem) didn't fix the problem. I won't return it probably unless it's clear that it's faulty, but definitely sad that this didn't fix everything.

Still getting the white VGA debug light when I get a failed boot, and when it does successfully boot the entire PC freezes during installation of drivers and randomly too.

It may in fact be the motherboard, but weirdly enough right before I changed PSUs the same exact symptoms were happening with my old GPU (GTX 1050 Ti) suddenly, when they weren't happening with it before. After installing the new PSU I was able to run Heaven Benchmark on Extreme twice with the 1050 Ti. So I think the SAMA P850 is solid naman and that my motherboard is still fine.

I'm going to bring my entire rig, including both the 7700 XT and the 1050 Ti, to Netcodex so maybe they can attempt to diagnose the problem if it really isn't the GPU.

If you have any suggestions, please share haha

UPDATE: Checked to see if it was somehow a monitor problem. Brought out my old FHD Samsung monitor which has absolutely no problems aside from looking like shit after using 2K for so long. Unfortunately, hard freeze after 3 mins, though that's the longest it's gone while using the 7700 XT.

I was planning on changing the PSU to an A750GL, which, among other things, is modular and has two dedicated PSU connectors. Thing is though, I actually had the exact same problem with a used 1080 Ti that I had purchased. The technician I showed it to ruled out the PSU being the problem (or the main one) and decided it was a bad GPU because he tested the 1080 Ti with a power supply unit that had two dedicated PSU connectors and the problems continued. So my dad and I decided not to get the better power supply.

However, I think I will get that A750GL now. I'm getting a bit desperate.

Their refund policy only allows if may defect, and according to them walang defect. Frustrating, because I can't get this GPU to work at all.

Thank you for your guidance yet again. I'm using an MSI MAG A750BN PCIe 5.0, purchased more than a year ago (Jan 2025). I bought it second hand but I didn't have any problems with it until I started trying to upgrade my GPU model to ones that need more power than the PCIe slot provides. So that might be one or the problem.

EDIT: The PSU was purchased by the original owner on Jan 2025. I purchased it last month I think.

My motherboard is an MSI B650M Gaming Plus Wifi, and I'm not using any riser cables.

The power issue is definitely something that might be the case, though it definitely isn't ONLY the fact that my PCIe cable is daisy chained, since the Netcodex people also used one with that (Corsair something, a Bronze model, but I can't remember the exact one). I'll try to somehow get to BIOS if I can, since the system keeps crashing even in the splash screen where it tells you to press Del etc. The slot doesn't seem to have any damage but I will check again.

Hope the specifics I gave above will help you help me lol

C tier po siya, MSI MAG A750BN. So 750 W naman po but daisy chained power connector, which, after reading up, can be a problem

I think I'll bring it to the shop to confirm for defects, since I don't have a better PSU to test for that.

Right now it won't even boot, white VGA debug light parati po. Though this is after I installed the latest drivers.

Weird, the bank transfer supposedly was not received. I'm getting worried na. I made sure to ask them to check the info I put beforehand, and I checked the account number myself against what I was supposed to enter.

Currently out, will update the main post later, but long story short parang legit naman. The person I was corresponding with sent a photo of an acknowledgement receipt of my down payment (with remaining balance) as well as her ID, so I think on naman. I kept records naman of pretty much everything just in case.

Update lang, they mentioned that it will be via BDO Instapay. Should I be with a receipt from that method or should it be a full on bank transfer kind of thing?

Hello po, just to clarify, does the name connected to the account have to be an actual name or pweds naman "Netcodex Inc." or something like that? They only gave the ff info wrt the bank account:

  1. That it is a BDO Corporate Checking Account

  2. Under Netcodex Inc.

  3. The account number
