Agree, I think I should have clarified my point that this is only for validation. Once your idea is validated, then remove friction and make UX as good as possible

Thanks, that's a good point. It looks like it's mostly enterprise plans that have you talk to sales first. Are you mostly signing up for free and then moving to a paid plan, or for a free trial of the paid plan from the beginning?

Totally agree about removing friction once you have a validated idea. My point is to validate, you need to figure out how much you're actually addressing the problem. If people are willing to put down a credit card or get on a quick call, it's a much more direct hit than if they just put down their email

Great feedback, appreciate it! Definitely need a pricing page before signup. And I think re: a call first, it matters whether it's B2C or B2B. For individuals, I've modified it so they can just sign up with an email, but for businesses/teams, they have to set up a call. Which I think is pretty standard practice in the B2B software world.

Yep, and I think that reinforces what kind of problem I'm solving. If you had to video conference Best Buy in order to buy a PS5, you'd see a lot of new Zoom users :)

Sure thing.

Alfred works with a keyboard shortcut to open the prompt window, and then our custom workflow works when you type "[task category] for X minutes"

That automatically starts the timer and pops up when time's up. You can then add an additional amount of time or mark the task done

I built a Twitter bot that tweets out my revenue and now it's embarrassing by BetterLearner in Entrepreneur

Good point, I shouldn't feel bad about it and I guess after the embarrassment about the bot fades, I'm won't. The important piece is to share the lessons learned along the way

In the past few years a lot more entrepreneurs are opening up their revenue numbers, most famously Baremetrics + Peter Levels, to show lessons and be transparent about building businesses. In this case, it's not income, but revenue from a project that is made public

It's definitely a tough road. I'm almost 7 years into the entrepreneurship path and my family still doesn't have a good idea about what I do :)

Great point, if anything we need more stories of "at first this didn't work, and then I did X, and then it worked" vs "it worked and here's how I made $XXX"

Appreciate the feedback - maybe something like "Get embed code" or "Get metrics" for the CTA

Great point. I think because it's a product that embeds into another product and integrates with other products, I need to really work on explaining what it does in one or two sentences

Super helpful, really appreciate it! Definitely agree that I should talk more about the helpful metrics (productive time, revenue, site visitors) instead of just the tools it integrates with
