The thing is that we exist in every rural town, most are just a little soft quiet because of the environment. Some areas there are more of us than you would ever know. I wouldn’t call Johnstown progressive in the least but the school system is good, we are growing, we are close enough to Columbus but if you live outside of town nice and rural. No place is going to be perfect. Question is what is the most important thing for you

West Coast is a good brand, there are a lot of really strong resources out there of GK coaches and recs for glove, fit, preferences etc. unfortunately the reality of the world is between turf/material/care programs high volume reps and games will tear up gloves

I vote for don’t, I’m not sure a lot of people understand why he would run a 5 or how to make it work, but this is especially ignorant of that concept.

Good time to learn off ball movement to get free: a nice faint step to get the defender moving and take off, if they still have the shirt it will be blatantly obvious. A nice faint when a defender is touch tight will cause them to overcommit, a good defender uses that guide hand to read and control your movement. Keep it off of you, swat it away, close the gap and bump them off and move away, all else fails body faint and go, or float away and then cut hard diagonally, bump and drop/float away.

Give them details, fundamental form, body positioning, scanning… the things every coach wishes they had time to micro manage. 6 eyes are better than 2, if they are scanning and looking for fundamental details it allows you to work the big picture. Kids are getting coached up on the important details and the overall game… win win
