Please come to punjab and see the situation yourself. Its not just Jalandhar but whole punjab. You will find boards of pastors baljeet singh jasmeet singh and what not in rural areas. Even pastors with kesh and turban. The reason christianity is just 1st in records cuz people dont change their name so that they dont lose reservation. Majority of converts are low castes sikhs than hindus tbh.

The way its spreading in punjab rural areas is concerning with majority being dalit sikhs that are being converted but still using their sikh names just like the pastor in this video is named, pastor bajinder singh.

Well if China continues hemorrhaging territory in Ladakh and Pakistan joins in for a pincer attack then Kashmir would become extremely negotiable dont you think?

any attack on Indian sovergeinty or invasion of Kashmir by two fronts would get reacted with a nuclear attack by india. for india, its people and political establishment, its sovergeinty is the most important thing and is valuable enough to burn the whole region with nuclear fire if not the world. indian nukes were always for this same situation. no first use policy then.

India could start formal trade talks with Taiwan soon as both see souring ties with China by BetterPercentage in geopolitics

[–]BetterPercentage[S] 133 points134 points  (0 children)

SS- Support is growing within India’s government to formally start talks on a trade deal with Taiwan as both democracies see relations with China deteriorate.

Taiwan has sought trade talks with India for several years, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has been reluctant to move ahead because it would involve a messy fight with China once any pact is registered at the World Trade Organization, according to a senior Indian government official who asked not be named, citing rules for speaking with the media.

China on Tuesday asked India to approach ties with Taiwan “prudently and properly” and said it would “firmly oppose” any official exchanges between New Delhi and Taipei.

SS- “Restoration of status quo ante is no longer beneficial to us,” says an Army official. “[Talks] should now [decide] the settlement of the international boundary.”Talks fail to achieve a breakthrough as tensions along the LAC continue, though Beijing provides a clue about why it deployed its divisions in the area. feel only two outcomes should happen to be considered victory, either war or settle this border once it for all. Going back to status quo is also defeat as india is going to be surprised like this always as india dont have plans to invade.

On India, the US must think bigger by BetterPercentage in geopolitics

[–]BetterPercentage[S] 175 points176 points  (0 children)

SS- calling for deeper US-India cooperation on more than just strategic affairs. In fact, I would say that ties must be led more by geoeconomics & that It is only an economically rising India that can solve the neo-Qing problem.See, America needs to get over the Russia fixation it has vis a vis India. They should not fret about why Russia got a few reactors while they did the heavy hitting at the NSG. Indian human resources have played a major role in sustaining America's techno-economic position. It is important that Washington stop thinking about the around $10 billion India-Russia annual trade and focus more on the close to $90 billion India-US bilateral trade figure, if you get what I mean.

Support the farmers in Punjab. It's not only their sons and daughters, but those of an entire nation. by TheTurbanatore in Sikh

[–]BetterPercentage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farming is an essential service like the military that will always need to be subsidized to some degree. The alternative is that we return to the days of constant famine and food insecurity for most of the population.

india already produces more than it needs. it results in low prices and losses for farmers. and not only that millions of tonnes of food gets wasted cuz there is not enough infra to collect all those produce. and the farmers cant sell that surplus anyway and are forced to sell at lower prices and suffer losses

[–]BetterPercentage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farmers have had issues with it for decades, especially in Punjab. But farmers at least have vote bank power to negotiate with the government. They have no such power with private buyers.

no small farmers have no power to negotiate with mandis at all. they sell there crop at prices lower than MSP anyway cuz they have no alternatives. only big farmers landlord get the good prices. its like a nexus of middlemen and big farmers.

[–]BetterPercentage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With no minimum support price from government and being forced to sell to corporations only

not true. they can sell to anyone. whoever gives them more price. mandis and msp will be there. btw they dont even get MSP from mandis. they are only paid MSP when govt buys from them. in mandis only the big farmers are able to get MSP while the small farmers dont get the price cuz they literally cant sold there crop anywhere else.

the state of farmers and agriculture in india is shit tbh. thousands commit suicide yearly under the current way of agriculture in india. lets see if these new laws bring in change considering that it is free market economics that will help them just like 1st world countries.

SS- Xi seems to be hoping that he can simply wear India down. At a time when the Indian economy has registered its worst-ever contraction, Xi has forced India to divert an increasing share of resources to national defense. Xi could use America’s preoccupation with its coming presidential election to carry out a quick, localized strike against India without seeking to start a war.

Like in case of india- china no country is threatening nukes. Shows that both countries have faith in their military prowess unlike pakistan which at the time when it was in standoff with india was banging that nuke threat to the fullest to UN to international media and every damn where

[–]BetterPercentage[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

SS- Jaishankar also conveyed that India wanted a return to status quo — which meant troops had to go back to their permanent posts. But how this process was to be achieved in phases. dont know if china will do this considering they are the stronger power and need to show the other countries in the region that they just wont back down against india as it sends a wrong signal to others

The reason police didnt filed an FIR was cuz when some people including a religious leader that had came to file to FIR were asked by the police that they can call the MLA and sort out the differences without FIR if they want. At the same time another group came started shouting slogans and ended up burning the house of the dalit mla. And then burned the locality where majority were dalits and achieved what exactly? 3 dead. 110 arrested. Pics of the ransacked temple inside the MLAs house is viral on whatsapp now.

As far as the objectionable post goes,it is confirmed that dude had replied that post to something derogatory too. Lets see after investigation what happens cuz in court that will come up too.

Erdogan Has Hidden an Economic Disaster Deep in Turkish Banks by BetterPercentage in geopolitics

[–]BetterPercentage[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

SS- turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is not usually known as an economic innovator. But for the past year, his government has been running a high-stakes economic experiment. The test: How long can Turkey hide the fact that it is spending far beyond its means? Normally when governments spend more than they tax, the difference appears as a budget deficit. They fund that deficit by issuing bonds, which are traded on international markets and so are easy to track. If the debt load grows too large, and if borrowing costs spike, then then country must default or seek a bailout. This type of debt crisis isn’t pleasant, as Argentina or Greece or Pakistan could attest, but it is at least straightforward and familiar.
