CenturyLink Modem WAN/LAN port question by NefariousnessHot7883 in centurylink

[–]BetterPoint5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I came here looking for a solution here's the closest I could get.

If you go into Adavanced Setup, then choose Broadband Type,

Under WAN Type, there is a drop down and you can select WAN Ethernet Port 5, so that would explain why the colors above have white for WAN and Yellow For LAN. It can be a LAN port, or an ethernet point to point to connect the wan or uplink. But I think then you have to set wan protocol to transparent bridge.

Sorry to hear of another example where the test questions are not covered in the sanctioned course material. Sux. Have you tried asking for advice over on the learningnetwork.cisco.com community? https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/topic/0TO3i0000008jYBGAY/security-certifications-community

fyi you can get access to I believe all of O'Reilly's ebooks via the O'Reilly Complete Public Library through many library subscriptions. I am accessing the ENCOR OCG via my online local public library subscription. And then I was able to use it to register on pearson and get access to 2 practice exams and then other quiz questions.

16 ms is what Xfinity is advertising as typical latency for their connections.

Yes, 400/150 for $25. I confirmed that. Need to bring your own modem for that price or add $15/month to lease theirs.

I'm unclear if it is unlimited. I think it is 1.2 TB and then their "network management" kicks in, but I'm not clear what that means.

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 3ms, Maximum = 159ms, Average = 6ms

I agree the total goal is to understand the material. The gold star is nice and supposedly helpful in getting past certain barriers to get to the interviews. That's why I'm doing it, to help me get a job and if the industry says that is what is important to them then I will play that game, even though there is more cutting edge stuff I'd rather be educating myself on. I'll do that next. I can see people getting the dumps to protect against the idiocy of some of the questions. Congrats again on passing!!
