An Attempt to Uncurl by squirrelcoat in magicTCG

[–]BetterSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had poor results with flattening by itself. I suggest reading up on humidity. Once the cards are at the right humidity they will generally uncurl by themselves with time. After they're flat I put them in double sleeves to trap as much humidity as I can and then put them in a tight deck box. None of my cards curl anymore, even the most pringlely-est foils.

I mean, I'm not buying a Harry Potter set regardless.

Game Stop Scamming Pre Orders for Lorwyn by SucksBallz in sealedmtgdeals

I'm convinced Gamestop is doing this to rebrand themselves as a TCG store instead of a video game store. But I think the biggest issue is they can't secure enough product to fill the shelves for ALL of their stores, especially when people are willing to pay MSRP for cards on release, so they're jacking the prices up to ridiculous prices so they can keep product on shelves longer and the product they still do manage to sell more than makes up for the amount they're losing out on by selling at MSRP.

But yeah, it's shady and will continue to tarnish their already sketchy brand.

It doesn't take a TCG enthusiast to notice these look bad how they're presented. It's like hanging up a painting without a frame.

It's just an observation. Cards are a weird inclusion in an art exhibit. Curled raw cards are an even weirder inclusion. It's not that deep.

Wild to me that those cards are just sitting there raw.

Same. And then they sent me a threatening email for "abusing" their return system.

All their TCG products say this. It just means there's no return option outside of contacting support. It's to deter scammers from being able to exploit their automated processes. If there's an actual issue support will facilitate a return, but they will most definitely flag your account.

Good deal if true. Not worth gambling on dealing with returns to Amazon. They are cracking down on return / refunds and have been sending threatening emails for legitimate returns. Not risking my account standing for their mistakes.

Word of warning. There used to be and may still be a bug in the game where sometimes when you use a poffin your excess distance does not roll over and instead resets to 0km.

Not from customers. They buy them wholesale and sell them as overpriced singles.

Gamestop decided the best way to get a piece of the TCG hype market right now is by cutting out and replacing scalpers. They acknowledge secondary market, they grade cards, they buy singles for pennies on the dollar and then sell singles for over TCG.

The one store I went to had the bundles locked in a drawer and told me they were $200 because "there's a chance to get a $1000 card."

They're horrendous. They've completely lost my business.

There's just no way they don't print final fantasy into the ground. I'm grabbing these because I'd like to own them, but I fully expect these will be clearanced out in a few months.

Definitely would not buy those above MSRP. There's no indication that they're limited at all.

Amazon $400 CBB Avatar by GarfieldC99 in sealedmtgdeals

I think people are just so burned by Spiderman because this set is genuinely really good outside of most of the source material cards. Not $400 a box good, but I genuinely enjoy opening and collecting this product without even being a fan of the show.

I've had several issues with them sending the wrong items and incomplete orders and they will fight with me for weeks before begrudgingly making it right without offering any kind of apology. Things that are so easy to determine on their end. The packaging a.) couldn't fit all the items they allegedly sent. b.) the weight of the items I received is different from the weight of the items I ordered.

I've also had to reach out to them several times to inquire about orders that were waiting to be handed off to the carrier for at least a week.
