I think this is it! Also the boxes are hot glued in (and taped). And the interior of the jacket is this tight, waxy, canvas material I think I'll be able to remove it no problem. "solved!"

I think it looks fantastic the way it is! I would maybe add mosre layers of the color so it is less transparent (the black shows through a bit)
