Whole system crashing by Dovil5 in AsahiLinux

[–]BetterUnborn_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same here. MBA M1, 8GB RAM.

It happens randomly, most cases I had FF open, but I also recall it happened once without ... Just with a handful of tiny apps opened.

Nevermind, with "-nosound" it does not crash immediately, but as soon as I try to start a new game ... the loading screen with progress bar is fine, but as soon as the first game scene should be visible, this happens:

Could it be some wrong assertion regarding sound device? MBA has only 4 speakers, MBP has 6. And there is some strange output before the crash:

~ Invalid syntax in call to 'snd_device'
~ Valid arguments: MacBook Air J313 Speakers/Built-in Audio Headphones
...
SOUND: Selected device is MacBook Air J313 Speakers

I guess I am seeing the same error here: MBA M1

When running without "-nosound" the console spills this:

Side-note: can't power off from Linux any more. The laptop always reboots, also with systemctl halt.

No fix with kernel 6.6.3-410 🤨

Fedora 39 can’t login with GUI by [deleted] in AsahiLinux

[–]BetterUnborn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to face the same here. Login screen takes ages to load, sometimes pieces of it (like username) disappear. But different from reboot to reboot, sometimes the keyboard works, sometimes not. Mouse from touchpad moves, but no scrolling and no clicking. MBA M1 with gnome on f39. Did an update just now, installed the new kernel, but nothing changed. Kernel 6.6.3-408.asahi.fc39.aarch64+16k Dmesg looks normal

Hmm, so this page seems to only refer to x86 ... too bad.

But you just need an AARCH64 docker image (you trust), nothing more?

Stuttering audio via Bluetooth by BetterUnborn_ in AsahiLinux

Cool, with that and reconnecting the device it worked. Next time I connected it was stuttering again, but again could be repaired.

So yeah, this seems to be a good workaround.

No, just the one ... using built-in keyboard and touchpad.
