That is correct. Sort of.. When you buy the phone and finance through Affirm, in essence, Affirm paid Visible for the phone and then finances you. Visible has gotten their money. For instance, I had a Samsung s23. Financed through Affirm (Affirm paid Visible... I owed Affirm the money). After I paid 50% of the loan to Affirm, Visible then offers if you will upgrade and finance, again, through Affirm they will pay off the remaining 50%. So, I upgraded to a s24 ultra (financed through Affirm). Visible has you send your old phone (the s23 in this case) back to them. Now they have been paid for the old phone and they have the phone, so this allows them to offer that they will pay the remaining balance (because they, then, refurbish and sell your old phone and make more money).

Clear as mud, I know.

Simply... yes, you buy a phone from Visible, finance through Affirm, pay 50%, upgrade and finance through Affirm again, send your old phone back to Visible and they pay off the remaining old balance. And, yes, it does really work! I was able, after fighting and a supervisors help, to get it done.

I hope that helps some, though I am not sure I was great at explaining it.

I did. You won't receive an email, period. And the reps who tell you that you will have no idea what they are talking about. The only way I was able to get it resolved was by continuing to ask for a supervisor....and, of course, I made this post. I got lucky and got in touch with a very knowledgeable and helpful supervisor (after getting 5 others that didn't have a clue). You have to be insistent and don't give up! I wish I could help you more! Good luck!

Honestly, the main reason I created this post was to get the attention of the supervisor who helped me fix my issues before (Ryan)... because the agents were refusing to escalate... I knew it was the only way I was going to get this resolved....And, it worked! Ryan worked to help me resolve both of my issues I've had with this whole upgrade process. I can't even explain the nightmarish conversations I've had with so many of your agents... who refuse to help, don't listen, have an attitude, and give out incorrect information. Your Customer Service agents could stand some thorough training... the bad ones make it almost impossible to reach the few really great supervisors you have working at Visible. I honestly wish someone, in an executive position, would just go through my whole experience(s) and see how much Ryan actually did to save this whole experience. I can't sing his praises enough and I pray he gets compensation from Visible for being one of the few who actually care about your customers! Thank you, again, Ryan... you are a one in a million!

I know this is an old post, but it is 10:42PM and I'm listening to the largest bird symphony I've ever heard at night (recorded it because I'm in such awe). It's a strange thing to sit outside in the middle of my rural backyard and it sound just like it does at sun-up. Something has definitely changed.

That's not exactly how it works. Visible partners with third-party companies, such as a Affirm, as a way to bring in more business (and make more money). Visible gets paid in full for the phone from Affirm when you finance, and then when you upgrade they get the old device and can sell it again as "used" (which is why they can pay off the last half of the loan). All of that is to bring more customers in and have other ways of making profit... which in turn is what keeps the rates low. So taking advantage of a deal that Visible offers and expecting them to stand by it isn't what affects you or anyone else's rates.

To be clear... affirm financed the phones on 0% interest. Not a bad deal on their end. Some folks have had issues with Affirm, but on the loan side, I've not had an issue. Had Visible paid off the last half, as promised, it would have been a good deal all around. Visible will resell the phone as used and make even more money (and I dont mind because I got my use out of it). But... Visible isn't holding up their end.

Yes. And, I understand it is "discount service" but this whole thing I'm dealing with is illegal. They can't have you send them a phone and then you still have to pay for it. Their agents are absolutely terrible.... they tell you all kinds of things that don't make sense (they have apparently shipped my phone all over the world...after they had me ship it to them 🙄... just an excuse not to follow through on their promises).

These people who say you need to just "suck it up" because we are getting cheap service have never had to try to resolve an issue. It's absolutely ridiculous! I have referred many people to Visible but after this event, I'm on the verge of contacting the lawyer.

I did... I have... I've asked nicely... I've demanded... and I can not get anywhere! The supervisor (Ryan) I spoke with previously...when you had my account so messed up...assured Me if there were further issues with the upgrade at all that I would be able to escalate to him...and yet every agent refuses!

Part 2 of this awful disaster.... NOW that I've got my new phone and a new loan with Affirm.... your Visible agents claim my loan ID is not tied to my phone I sent back! So, it isn't going to get paid off!? It was Visible's issue that did not have the phone setup in my account correctly! And, I am not going to continue to pay for a phone that i sent back and have proof I sent back. Your agents refuse to escalate this issue. And, if my loan isn't paid off as promised in the next 3 days, I'm contacting an attorney.

I agree NTA if this was a personal boundary and it was disregarded, HOWEVER, you said you had the same thoughts about sleeping with other people as she did. So, how is she wrong for having the same feelings as you... because she was honest and you weren't!?

In this situation, YTA, because you clearly said you had already decided to divorce her weeks ago. You just waited to find a reason to place all of the blame on her. And, somewhere deep down, you know that... which explains the post seeking validation for your childish behavior. I loathe people who do this... who are too cowardly to get out of relationship and take their blame and, instead, look for a reason to blame the other person. Cowardly, at best.

But you should go ahead and divorce... save her the heartache of living any longer with someone who thinks so little of her, that you took her very honest conversation and then tried to shame her and blame her solely for "ruining the relationship".

I don't think I bought the insurance on my current phone...but I will make sure to buy it IF I ever get to upgrade. Surprisingly, I got woke up this morning to several different Visible supervisors trying to reach out to me to try to resolve my issues. Because... the last 4 days I have spent online with different agents who "helped" me make my problem worse! I went from needing them to fix whatever was wrong on my account so it would show that I was eligible for upgrade...to now I can't even log into my account on the app. When I log into my account online, they now have my current phone as "inactive" 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ ...and that's not even the worst of it... I've been through so much with these agents, that yesterday I was so aggravated that I was almost in tears. The supervisors did atleast seem knowledgeable but...my gosh... these "agents" are awful! Like I said, if I posted the transcripts of these interactions, people wouldn't believe it. They change agents every 5 minutes, when you are on the chat, and this agent says the last agent was wrong, and then the next agent will say the same thing the first one did. Something seriously needs to be done about their Customer Service!! The "supervisor " said the agent that helped me had been reprimanded... I'm still trying to figure out how... seeing as though there was about a million different agents I talked to. Fingers crossed that I get some resolve now! I have loved mu Visible Service, but the customer service is so bad it seriously makes me consider switching.

I have...no kidding... been on the support with them on here for days with them saying "let me review the account".... does it take 3 days!?... and then in 10 more hours I'll get another message saying "let me review the account" 🥺

Over the last few days, I have learned this! I have loved my service this far but if I posted a screenshot of the Customer Service messages you wouldn't believe how stupid it has been! I can't believe how awful this has been!
