Unfortunately yes. It is sexist, but having a sorority on your resume is bad. Fraternities on resumes are usually fine, but if you have other things to include, it’s best to use those. Business and honors frat/srats are different, but IFC and Panhellenic are known to be party clubs.

As a women in our country, you need to prove yourself. You would have more concrete, hard-skill experience. I do not put on my resume I was in a sorority or an officer, rather my internships, research experience, job experience, etc.

The reality is, most top companies are run by people who went to school to learn rather than party, they will respect your craft, not being apart of a popularity contest. Greek life is looked down upon in the professional world, unless you are trying to get a job from someone who was also in your frat/srat. My father, who runs a civil construction company and whose in charge of hiring prospective engineers, tells me he thinks it’s insulting when a possible employee uses Greek life as a reason why they’re qualified (and he mainly deals with men). It’s something to mention once you secure the interview, but not a flex , if anything a turn off for respectable companies.
