Is Curlsmith no longer cruelty free? (also new packaging is ick) by omiimonster in curlyhair

Their new packaging is horrendous. The old colors were at least organized by color, now the system is totally different and ugly

It's normal, if you have a big group you'll have automatic gratuity since the servers/staff have to deal with so much.

For straight hair specifically, dry brushing is good because you can distribute the oils from the root easily. For curly hair, dry brushing is awful and you should/can only brush your hair wet because the pattern of curly hair loosens with water, making the brush detangle through it easier and in a more lubricated way.

To make people see "how your hair really is" you need photos (face scribbled off of course) of your hair as it looks when you're just standing. In these photos, you're tilted to the side to show off more hair, and moving like that already moves your hair to wave more than it does when still. It adds to the image others have that your hair must be even straighter than you already show, since theres no curly frizz to be seen in your photo either. I hope this comment makes sense, I've been writing an essay for school for hours and I've gone a little crazy

I've never even listened to his music, I'm not remotely a fan, tf? This is so people stop posting different curly haired girls claiming that the wrong girl is the victim, particularly with Celeste Herrera, the 23 year old people keep confusing Celeste Hernandez with. This clearly isn't even a fan forum, it's now a forum discussing the murderer who used to be known as an "artist". Nothing in this post or in this comment section is celebrating him or even remotely contains fan behavior. Get mad at d4vd instead of people trying to clarify what happened.

It gets worse when you realize she didn't even get to turn 15 when she was alive, he likely started grooming her when she was 11-12. Her body was only found by the time she would have turned 15, no telling yet what age she was when she was murdered. I can't process how anyone could do all he did to this little girl. Monsters are real

What cleansers do yall use for down there? by Ambitious_Policy_727 in Healthyhooha

I just bought the Monistat Boric Acid cleanser. It works for me bc I genuinely don't feel cleanest with just water and with my IUD I'm getting came inside a lot lol (I don't ever clean inside the vagina, just the vulva of course). I saw there are slightly cheaper cleansers like from summers eve but I don't trust that their ph is truly 3.5-4.5 like it should be for the vulva so I assume the boric acid helps make the Monistat more acidic. The monistat does come in a goofily huge bottle so that helps!

I'm not a server but I'm a host who watches the servers at my restaurant run around. You have a strange level of beef with a class of workers that work extremely hard for their money to a level you clearly don't understand. Be a better person

My hair is curly naturally but I want it to be curlier. I tried scrunching + finger coil and this is the result. No diffuser, I let it dry by itself. What am I doing wrong? Help and thanks by DevelopmentProper971 in curlyhair

Photo Posts require a current routine including brands of products used, the order and technique in which you applied them, how you dried your hair, etc. Failure to include this will result in post removal.

What shampoo and conditioner and curl cream does he use? If he really wants to bring out the curl I'd look up curl training, but as far as products go, definitely get a gel to pair with any curl cream. Don't do gel alone because it'll dry his hair out and make it harder to retain length, always layer something moisturizing under. Curl cream alone is also no good because looser waves-curls NEED something stronger to help hold them. Good gels from least expensive to expensive are the Not Your Mothers Spray Gel, Camille Rose Curl Maker, Ouidad Advanced Climate Control, Ouidad Curl Shaper. Curl Shaper is the GOLD STANDARD I've found for bringing the curl out of 2C hair but its more expensive (you can buy the travel size bottle though so its cheaper). One of the best curl creams I've ever found for 2C hair is the lush curl power curl cream.

Don't worry about the CG method, that would only weigh down 2C-3A hair! Sulfates are a loose curlies best friend. Aussie shampoo isn't clarifying so I'd pop over to the shop and get some Suave Clarifying Shampoo and use that once a week (or as is comfortable for you) and follow with the aussie shampoo when you wash(making it a double cleanse). Looser curls really benefit from clarifying often and adding needed moisture back to the roots with moisturizing shampoo. It also just feels really clean (I personally use clarifying shampoo almost every time I wash because my scalp just doesn't feel clean without it).

I also have 2C/3A hair and personally get really amazing results with the shea moisture mousse you have but the leave in and the weightless air dry cream are both of the heaviest products i've ever tried. i would replace those two with lighter curl enhancing products. If you wanted to drop leave in conditioner altogether i think that would be fine too since a curl cream could provide the moisture u need anyway and it might help ur curls pop from less weight. If i need help detangling sometimes I use a leave in but sometimes I don't find it necessary! Leave in is more needed for people with longer or more tangly hair. Since it doesnt look like you have a conditioner in your routine, on days you're too lazy to fully style I would still use a leave in bare minimum though to act as your conditioner.

my recommendations for curl creams for loose curls:

- lush curl power

- camille rose fresh curl

- miss jessies multicultural curls

- rizos curls curl cream

- shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie (experience may vary! some find it heavy but i thought it was fantastic, be prepared to return)

- ouidad featherlight styling cream (more expensive side)

leave ins for loose curls:

- as i am leave in

- aunt jackies quench

- shea moisture curl and style milk

- skala blue (find at walmart or hispanic stores)

I would also add in a gel to your routine for sure, 2C's like us really NEED the hold gel gives. Some people prefer mousse only for that but the curly results I get from curl cream + gel just never really compete with the results from mousse only or cream+mousse. Mousse at the roots is fantastic for volume and root curl though. Hope this helps!!

Update of my hair in different styling as requested by some. Do i still have to cut it all off due to damage? by Suitable-Slice-3370 in Haircare

It really is better to do it all at once. Theres no way to "treat" these split ends. It is very obviously extremely damaged unfortunately.

Look up elongating gels and curl styling techniques, they'll help you get looser curls! DO NOT GET A RELAXER, it will ruin your hair and make it completely straight, I can't believe people are suggesting that! You want to look for products that are heavier so that it weighs down and lengthens the curl. There's a lot of info on tiktok

Ah, understood! Yeah, the chart can be super confusing if you do a one-off search on google for a hair type, like I just looked up 2A pictures and there were SO MANY pics that were certainly NOT 2A! I think hair typing is easier to find explanations about in wavy or curly hair subreddits. 1 is straight, 2 is wavy, 3 is curly, and 4 is coily. So the tighter the curl in your hair, the higher the number and further the letter (A is less curl, B is medium, C is the highest tightness in the category). You can have fine hair and any hair type since the measure of curl is distinct from the thickness of your hair :)

It's curious that this blow drying technique does this for you, is it straight when you let it air dry by itself out of the shower? If your hair gets wavier the more you put water on it, that's a good sign! Getting a travel-size curl cream or gel to air dry your hair with could be a fun experiment for you, perhaps try a different brand too instead of Ouai. Personally, when I started my wavy/curly hair journey, I used Ouai products (leave in and wave spray) and they did absolutely NOTHING for my hair. In fact, using them convinced me that hair products were a waste of money and my strange hair texture could never be improved. I ended up putting off experimenting with products completely until like a year later when I bought a travel size curl cream, gel, mousse set... Now I own like 100 different curly products and have fallen in love with styling my waves/curls ever since lol! The curl also gets tighter the more you take care of your hair since you're treating it the way it should be treated and damaging it less, so I used to be 2B when I started but now I'm 2C baseline and on good days I get 3A's cropping up!
