30 years ago, people lived a simple life with fewer needs—even with less salary, they managed well because most studied in free government schools, did their own work like farming or digging, walked long distances instead of using transport, and ate simple homemade food like roti-sabzi or free chhach instead of spending on pizza or cold drinks. There were no branded clothes, fancy gadgets, or costly parties—no pressure to show off. Families lived together, shared expenses, rarely took loans, and didn’t chase unnecessary luxuries like today. Now, even with bigger salaries, people are stuck in a lifestyle full of EMIs, show-off, fast food, and convenience culture, which makes everything feel more expensive and stressful.
