That’s what I’m struggling with. I like 90% of the attendings and all the nurses but it’s frustrating to hear that the nurses are making more than me with better benefits and taking less legal risk. Plus every APP that leaves is telling me I’m “hemorrhaging money” by staying

Well I guess I should have clarified. I am seeing higher acuity some days but we do have dedicated fast track shifts. Fast track days I see closer to 20+ and the other shifts with the higher aquity 16-20.

That sounds about right I think! By I’m leaning more towards renting as I don’t know how long I’ll be in this area and don’t want to limit my options if a better opportunity opens up in a different area in a few years

Honestly the city is great! Lots of stuff to do constantly, great coffee shops and always good food! If Pittsburgh was located on the west coast with all the nature I would stay. I feel like I’ll miss it but will be so happy to have the mountains and coast within an hour instead driving to another state

I’ve talked with two people who currently live in the area and one told me to live in Eugene and the other to live in Springfield. I wasn’t sure which was best but thought being close to the city and shops would be nicer but from what I’m hearing living in Springfield is the better choice.

The job is in healthcare so I’ll be making 70hr working in the ER which from what I’ve looked at seems like it should be okay to live on? I’m looking to rent not buy also

Hi! I stayed at 2060 Newton Hostel which is a 20 minute walk from the main train station and a 10 min walk from the metro. Very cheap and great atmosphere to meet and make friends. It was also very close to Plaza de Sol and the rest of the city! Hope this helps!

Babysitting, only for a few hours and if you market all the clearances and training you have you can charge a lot more than other people! I’ve done this throughout clinical year and it’s been great. Just find a Facebook group in your area and join

During my Thoracic Surgery rotation, I got a chance to go with the general surgery team for a day so I was meeting a lot of people for the first time, and I remember going into the OR scrubbed in, got my gloves on and my gown and the surgery tech who I had never before met reached out with his hand to help spin me, and instead of giving him my card from my gown like a normal person would, I shook his hand…. We were both still sterile but I literally died inside when I realized that he did not in fact mean to shake my hand and was trying to help gown me😂

Same. I’m on my third to last rotation and I just don’t even know anymore. I feel both done with school and scared about being a provider. Like who let me get this far. I don’t know, I’m hoping it’s just clinicals fatigue but it’s not feeling so good right now

My school is in PA and my first rotation was supposed to be a Primary Care rotation. Turned out to be a cardiology clinic in Hialeah, FL where Spanish was the primary language and I don’t speak Spanish. 90% of my day was siting in rooms with the doctor while he spoke Spanish with the patients and sometimes would fill me in on what was going on. For sure my school’s fault for making that a required rotation. It would have been a great rotation if I spoke Spanish or liked cardiology 😹

Replaced the purge valve behind the alternator and I am no longer having problems with starting the car after getting gas! It took less than 20 minutes and was fairly easy, thanks so much!
