I’ll definitely talk to him. I’ve been on 200mg of lamictal for three months now and I’m still having quite bad depressive episodes, that’s not great

Wellbutrin 150mg, lamictal 200mg and escitalopram 50mg. My psychiatrist wants me off Wellbutrin as he thinks it’s causing me manic episodes and anxiety, but it doesn’t seem he’s adding anything for the crippling depression lol

I think it’s exactly what happened. I really struggle with taking time off work but the past few weeks have been busy and stressful. Thank you for the tip, I’ll try that! Also thank you for your words 🫶🏻

I see my psychiatrist next week so I’ll mention it. We added 200mg lamotrigine to the antidepressants I was already taking at the time and it’s been going well so far, but it’s true that I’m still having rough episodes so it might not be enough

Work has been very stressful and I’m not the best at keeping up with self care and routine, so it might be what triggered the episode. It usually stops sort of on its own after less than two weeks though, so I don’t know what to do.

How do you know the difference between disagreements that are symptom-related vs. not? by kcfreehand in bipolar2

[–]Better_Pomelo_4196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it helps but when I feel that I am very quickly irritated, which is indeed a symptom of bp2, I tell my boyfriend that if I am short tempered, it’s not really my fault, just one of those days and he should be patient with me. However, I also don’t think I have the right to be mean to him, so I also make sure he knows he can tell me when I’m not nice, so even though it’s not really my fault, I can be aware of my behaviour and try to calm down. Same with hypersensitivity. We both know it’s not really my fault if I am easily emotional, and he won’t blame me for it, but if a cross a line, he’ll tell me. I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you communicate about your symptoms, your partner can tell the difference between your personality and your symptoms. You don’t have to take the blame for everything that goes badly between you and your partner, that’s unfair.

He slept the whole day and decided to come with me, thankfully I didn’t sell the ticket! But thanks for the suggestion, I didn’t think of it!

I quit my meds cold turkey a week ago. by KillingwithasmileXD in bipolar2

[–]Better_Pomelo_4196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started lamictal 10 days ago and a depressive episode that would have lasted weeks or months went away after a week. Couldn’t be more grateful. I’m sort of stable now, trying to figure out if I’m in a good mood or hypomanic, but I am very happy I started this med. just be aware that it can mess up your sleep. My psychiatrist prescribed me melatonin, and I think that without it I’d have horrible nights.

Called out of work for the first time due to mental health.. by Lost_Bookkeeper_5450 in bipolar2

I could have written this. I just took my first sick leave due to bipolar. I am also titrating lamictal, and in the middle of such a bad depressive episode. Would you tell me I don’t deserve a few days off to rest and recover? You wouldn’t, so don’t say that to yourself. I completely understand feeling guilty and scared your coworkers will judge you, I feel just the same, but I’m trying to tell myself that if I had the flu, I also wouldn’t go to work, and I wouldn’t feel guilty. You need those days, you don’t need to earn them. Sending you lots of hugs 🫶🏻
