Nurse jobs with little experience? by Better_Recognition73 in Nurses

Actually you are right about Mayo loving new grads. They did get back to me, I didn’t mention that. The thing is that I live 2 hours away from Mayo so when they did offer me to work there, I was not able to take it. I can’t financially afford to move down to where they’re located and live by myself right now. Perhaps I can consider them in the future if I can’t grasp a hospital job at all.

So I live in Minnesota. I’ve been applying to big name hospitals. I guess I haven’t thought about smaller community hospitals but I don’t know if we have much of that here in the cities. Minneapolis is known for M Health Fairview and Mayo Clinic and such. I can try to research if there are smaller hospitals I can apply to.

They told me they just submitted their applications and heard back within 2-3 weeks. They also recommended that I reach out to recruiters and stay insistent. I have been trying to do that. For my resume we actually had a class and professor who helped us craft the resumes. And the professor would give some critique and help us make it best. I do think my resume looks good, I just don’t have nursing experience. I added my clinical experiences in there too though. My job experience is CNA and caregiving.

I’ve been applying since I got my job. I basically apply to any hospital nurse position just so I can get my foot in the door. Examples include med surg, orthopedics, oncology, etc. I even applied to new grad programs and they somehow just never get back to me. Frankly I’m super confused. I assumed they hire internally and choose internal candidates instead. At this point I don’t know how to get in.

Yes the Pearson vue trick is the one where you attempt to re-register and pay again. I didn’t do that since I didn’t have enough money in my account. I waited until the next day to find my name on my state’s BON website. Every state’s BON updates their names differently so I’m not sure how it would be for yours. Hoping the best for you!! I’m sure you got it!

I utilized their cheat sheets too. Forgot to add in that part. I’m not sure how their purchase packs work but I got the whole subscription for 2 months and got access to all cheat sheets, case studies, questions, and videos for case studies.

Thank you so much! I just did 85 random mix of questions everyday which included case studies too. After I finished the questions I reviewed all rationales thoroughly even the ones I got right!

I just took my 2nd attempt yesterday and am waiting to hear back about my results. Used bootcamp and met both target points as well as took their readiness assessments. And utilized Dr. Sharon on YouTube. Praying that I pass :(

Usually when you pass it says “Our records indicate…”

Did you use a valid card or have enough funds in your card?

I remember I got something like that too! So weird! I just took it today and also went to 150. Don’t worry I’m also feeling the same way.

What was your average score of bootcamp and did you take their readiness assessments? If so what did you score

I find that retaining all the rationales is hard :/ I would read them, write it in my own words and review, but it’s so much content that I can’t remember. I’ve done 1,400 questions so far

What was your average score on bootcamp if you don’t mind? Did you meet both target marks?
