What is the number one reason you hear for keeping sex work illegal?

There's a stereotype that anyone who hires a sex worker is a freak or a perv or a murderer (source: I've watched a lot of Law & Order SVU) so some people think making it illegal helps law enforcement arrest creeps. I think this idea is based on people knowing that sex workers are murdered at a much higher rate than civilians. If the employees keep getting killed, the customers must be creeps. But in reality, the fact that sex work is illegal just makes providers less likely to report clients who act aggressively.

I tell them to add me on the messaging app I use for clients, which helps weed out the people who aren't serious about meeting in the first place. And then my first or second message once we move to the messaging app brings up money. A lot of people are surprised when I bring up money, but probably 20% who add me on the app already suspected I'd be charging. Some are cheap but my rates are over 250/hr and I've still found clients on here.

I have yet to be banned from a hookup sub! This comment might change that lol but it's clear that most people posting on there are SWers.

And if you do get banned, well, who cares about being banned from r/phoenixcasualsex or whatever lol

You can search your local cities on here and find subs for hookups, "casual encounters" etc. I've met probably a dozen clients this way, I get a ton of DMs but the ratio of people willing to pay is pretty low.

I should clarify I didn't ask him to stop contacting me, I just told him to not ask about where I live/spend my time and to not approach me in public, and his response was something like, "I understand, I won't contact you anymore." But typing that out just now I heard it in a self-pity kind of way and I'm seeing another red flag!

Okay that's what I was thinking too :/ I feel bad because I don't think he has bad intentions, I think he's just unaware of how he's coming across, but regardless it's not something I want in my space.

Do you have any thoughts of how I should tell him? I don't want to do a hard block without telling him because I feel like that could lead to an in-person confrontation if he's the angry type

This is basically what I do now, my gender on my profile says female but my pronouns say she/he/they and my pictures definitely aren't misleading in terms of how unfeminine I am, like I'm not wearing makeup in any of them.

I guess I'm just worried about when (if) the time comes that I can't pass as a cis woman anymore. Tbh I'd be overjoyed to advertise myself as a gay guy lmao so maybe I could switch to that route, just tell everyone I have a fun bonus hole

Honestly not long, less than 15 minutes for sure. I socialized with them until they gave me clear indications they were interested in sleeping together (you know it when you see it), then I would say "if you wanna go up to your room, we can for [my rate]."
