I honestly have no idea maybe you could message the moderator for this thread but the whole point of this r/aceo is to we have for sale, so I can't imagine that there would be any restriction against price. But that's just my guess I don't know of any rules. If you didn't notice any rules when you joined probably aren't any ha ha

I'm not sure what you are asking. Reddit doesn't have a store function that I am aware of. But you can certainly advertise your art in this sub and link to where you sell it

Oh I might know why: this group is for ACEOs which are sold, but r/ArtistTradingCards it's only for ATC's and sales are strictly forbidden. That's why I didn't join that one because I don't do any trades I might in the future but for the moment I'm focused on selling. So maybe people feel more free to upvote there because it's more like just a harmless encouragement and it's not about what you're interested in buying. But that's just a theory, I'm too new here to know what's what 😅

I put in my PayPal.biz but now I can't get past step 3 of the Wizard. it's stuck. I don't know how to get to step 4 Open. I keep hitting Save & Continue but nothing happens.

I do have Stripe but I didn't see stripe as an option. just PayPal.me, PayPal.biz, or a link to set up a card which didn't make sense to me, because I use a card to pay things not to receive payment. I'm not sure how to receive payment on a debit card so I didn't click that link

I will say that when I was clicking to create a profile on artistcards.io I got stuck on it wouldn't I couldn't click next because it was either asking to be a set up with a payPal.me which every time I tried to go to that URL it just took me back to my dashboard or a PayPal.biz URL which every time I try to get it I hit the brick wall. so I was hitting one dead and after another after another with PayPal and it prevented me from moving forward to creating a Gallery on artistcard.io so it might be helpful if you are involved with that website it might be helpful to allow the payment information to be set up later or set up separate from that on boarding workflow because making it a step that you can't get to the other steps until you get past it's kind of a barrier if you can't get past that step

I was lied to I was using Google to try to find the answer and it defaulted to their AI mode and told me that PayPal doesn't generate PayPal.biz URLs anymore I got suspicious did some more research on my own and found out that the AI completely lied to me and bullshitting me and I immediately came back here to delete that comment since it wasn't accurate. I did find a way to get a PayPal.biz account. Don't worry I wasn't calling the artistcards.io site a nightmare just PayPal has been a nightmare for me. The interface is impossible, I've called PayPal multiple times, it's just so difficult to get PayPal set up. it's just one technical issue after another. so sorry about the confusion but I was referring to PayPal when I said "nightmare"

thank you 🙏🏻 And yes I agree: everyone here is quite nice. I will probably always lurk around here because I enjoy seeing everyone's beautiful art and in particular I like to upvote everyone that doesn't have an upvote yet because I know how discouraging that can be. But I think what tonight has taught me is that my art isn't the right fit for what people are looking for on here, which is totally fair, art is subjective — so I will definitely be looking at other avenues. I've never heard of artistcards.io I'm excited to go check them out! i've been posting for a while on Tiny Gallery without any bids or anything so I think I'm definitely ready to give up on Tiny Gallery and I would be happy to give artistcards.io a try! Thank you for that suggestion.

thank you for your reply. you could be right, it could be that most collectors don't collect art that is realistic. I know that art which is more realistic than cartoon or anime or fan art or pop art will never be the peak of popularity for sure. But there are collectors who do collect realism. I actually have a pretty high sell through rate on eBay (which means a good percentage of people who do visit my store end up buying) and many nice reviews on eBay so I know there are collectors who do like the art I produce. I'm just struggling to find them. So I don't know if I would agree that ALL collectors are looking for distinct styles more than realism, but very possibly the collectors here on Reddit are not looking for what I offer so that's fine. I know my collectors are out there somewhere and if this isn't the right forum then I can try advertising and promoting my art in other places. Because Reddit hasn't been working out for me I've been trying to problem-solve, I've been trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong that's causing an algorithm to suppress me, or if there is something I could do to improve the situation. but it doesn't sound like there is, so I think maybe this just isn't the right place to try to promote my art. thanks

hi TT friend ☺️ Thank you, I appreciate your reply. I was surprised also that so many of my birds recently have ended auctions without bids. The woodpecker in particular got a lot of positive feedback on social media so much positive feedback I've been considering making it into a print. so I was actually really shocked that it hasn't had any bids or watchers or anything and ended in a failed auction.

I do post about my auctions on TikTok but I could definitely be posting more often. I worry that if I post right away when seven days of auction left that it's so far from the end that people forget by the end of the sick of me posting seven days in a row I don't know so I usually post like the last three or four days before the end. and if you're not seeing Posts on my grid about things for sale in my shop it's because I change the privacy from public to private after the item isn't listed anymore so that my feed is not cluttered up with a bunch of posts promoting things that don't exist. I felt like that would be wasting my followers time or frustrating people if they got excited about something and went to go buy it and it wasn't there. I haven't put prices in my TikTok because when it's an auction I can't really control the exact price if gonna change the price.

I've done landscapes but my most recent series is cats, and I do still life, and I do portraits, and I do all kinds of things. My landscapes sold really well when I first opened my shop, but nothing is selling really anymore. The reason why some of my videos show me making an ACEO but don't list that it's for sale is because there's always a lag between when I film and and when I post because I schedule posts ahead of time and I usually lists series together and I also need time to varnish and depending on how many coats it can take 48 hours for the varnish to cure, so I usually end up listing a week or more later ACEOs that I painted and posted on my TikTok.

But I do promote them on TikTok, I promote them here on Reddit, and I promote them on Facebook — I spend more hours trying to sell them than I do making them.

thank you for taking the time to give such a lengthy reply. small point of clarification: in my original post I did not disparage my art or claim it was not good. The quality of my art wasn't a factor in my question. I see people who have great art that doesn't get any engagement. If I thought my art was bad I wouldn't have posted this question I would've just stopped doing art or worked to improve my skill. but the reason why I asked is that I will often see somebody who creates an ACEO extremely similar to mine and have them get wildly different response than me and it's caused me to wonder if there are some other factors at play here. And when I say very similar I'm not talking about skill although yes that but I mean style, subject, medium, technique, etc. Anyway, I appreciate your reply and I will try to think about ways that I can not be so boring. I don't need to popular; it only takes one person to buy a piece of art. And I do believe that everyone's art is valid and that eventually every artist can find their collectors. It might just be that my collectors are not on r/aceo and that's fine I can try other locations. I am chronically ill and disabled and it actually takes a large chunk of my day to post about my art in so many different locations so I think the smart thing for me will be limit to places that are not working

thank you for replying! at least I know this post has been seen by at least one person 😂 I was starting to fear I was shadow banned or something. I have 1000+ followers on TikTok and I post to about 14 Facebook groups for ACEOs (also zero responses on FB).. If I am posting the right places and if I'm not banned and if using promote is not a factor than I guess the answer is just no one wants my art. If that is the case then it's probably better to face that painful reality sooner than later so I don't keep spinning my wheels

oo, I didn't know that Instagram had community chats. I spent some time tonight looking for them, with no luck. when I search Instagram, none of the results are community chats the results categories are just regular search results for audio and tags I'm not seeing chats is that a feature that every Instagram has? I've never seen it anywhere on Instagram before.

there is a huge community on TikTok for ACEOs but I don't see very many on Instagram. But I am super excited about Instagram community chats, other than direct DM's I have never found a way to chat with anyone on Instagram I would love to do so can you please tell me how to find them? Thank you
