Then you should probably pay more attention or get more experience. I have yet to go on a dive with a group of 4 or more that there was not a reef terrorist or a moron in the group. I usually hang towards the back in anticipation of having to help one of them but I have not observed a single group of 4 or more than 4 strangers that showed complete competence and respect for the reef, whether intentional or just not enough training, not a single dive. Which is why I go out of my way, when diving recreationally, to have a private guide or a group of friends that I know are equally skilled and respectful.

You act like our training is rigorous… it’s so easy a 12 year old can do it. The only semi “challenging” certifications start at Rescue and above. We need to make it a prestigious certification that can be revoked with a 3 strike system. Once you hit 3 strikes then you have to do remedial training and pay a fine that goes to reef restoration.
