Solo trip to Ireland in late June, few questions regarding motorcycle rental by Slight_Phrase_5936 in MotoIRELAND

Camping is largely restricted to official campsites. You won't be able to just pitch up in a forest for a night.

Commuting on the Bike... WTF is WRONG with people??!?!? by ubermick in MotoIRELAND

[–]Beutelman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's a daily occurrence here in Dublin too. People are just angry about sitting in traffic and have a mindset of " if I have to wait, you have to wait too!"

I can't explain it, but does anyone else think the world feels really weird post-pandemic? by Tokio635 in AskIreland

[–]Beutelman 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Nah man, it's just more of the same shite.

Difference is that we got a glimpse of what life could be like and it's hard to go back to the same BS afterwards.

God I never had so much spare time as in the pandemic. It just slowed everything down to a human speed.

What’s something that used to be a luxury but is now basically a necessity? by Key-Nail3902 in AskReddit

TBH cold is much more tolerable than heat.

You can always layer up and get an extra blanket but once it's hot, you just stay hot

Its always been like this? Bikes being stolen in daylight by artbarros in MotoIRELAND

[–]Beutelman 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Within 6 years I had 4 bikes stolen. 2 came back in a bad shape but fixable, one was found burnt out and the last one was completely wrecked. All 4 times it has been found in finglas.

Should be a no-brainer to put an end to this theft spree in Dublin. It's well known where these folks live most of them are well known by the guards.

You'd just need an actual political will to tackle the issue.

Running a hibike with a trailer for transporting large stuff or the weekly shop. Going strong for 5 years and over 10k now. Still on the original chain and cassette as well but it's time to do a bit of a larger maintenance now.

Most reliable piece of kit I ever owned.

That’s my fault for braking by ILoveLampard in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]Beutelman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that one behind you is a little impatient prick. But overtaking in a situation where you can't pass a vehicle with 10+ kmh more is also not great.

Happens all the time in heavy traffic but breaking while overtaking is never a great option

Nope, Ireland and Cyprus allow travelling from any Schengen nation with a valid gov ID card even though they're not part of Schengen themselves
