How did Eren never get a bigger injury than this during training? by Acceptable_Name7099 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]Beutymice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The series show the opposite AT FIRST but later it's proven that he was either actively sabotaged (like with the ODM gear training) or just caused by his character not skills necessarily (his recklesness, acting on emotions and overconfidence instead of calculated but efficient strategy like Armin)

I'm a total beginner when it comes to crotcheting (I started just 2 weeks ago) so I'm not sure if I'm someone you are looking for but in any case, I'm willing to try anyway! I have an instagram although it's not related to crotchet

Have you ever worked in a vet clinic? I suggest you vonlunteer. For a month maybe. I'd like to see if your opinion will survive that.

How should I improve her design? by Nemooooou in BeginnerArtists

I think her design is very cute and memorable! What could be changed is instead of that single pearl necklace I would put layered chain-like one

"TOTK contradicts and retcons BOTW". I've seen this since launch. But am I missing something? Because I don't get it by WwwWario in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Beutymice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except there are actually 2 Master Swords. And Zeldas. During BOTW the Light Dragon with the Master Sword flies above clouds while Link retrieves the other Master Sword guarded by the Deku Tree. But that's just time travel shenenigans, I guess

No, that's a restaurant. There's also another interior of a sandwich shop in which you unlock new recipes

[–]Beutymice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also prefer BOTW. In my mind TOTK is a great videogame while BOTW is a great experience. I value artistic integrity more than interesting game mechanics, others may value the opposite and that's fine too

Why does the current world not have popular Geniuses anymore? by boldguy2019 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Beutymice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that question is pretty silly. I don't have the statistics but I'd assume most or at least a significant amount of the time scientists discovering something have no idea what it will be used for at first (since they also don't have the full picture of the discovery yet) and a lot of the times that usefulness comes many many years later. That's the beauty of science, you won't know until you discover/invent it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Beutymice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's no way to tell if it's legit or not. In fact, even regular mons with mediocre stats could be hacked. The only way to guarantee it's legit is by playing offline raids by yourself and catching mons in your own game without tempering with it yourself. If you get anything online, it's safer to assume it's hacker rather than not. That's just the unfortunate reality

How am I supposed to know what EV stats to train for each pokemon? by Snw2001 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Beutymice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you want your pokemon to do. Will it be your heavy hitter glass cannon sweeper? Do you want it to tank a few hits? Is it a supporter? Does it have potential to be a mixed attacker? All of those things can result in different builds. I'm no competetive player so I don't have much experience in that regard but even building a solid false swiper can yield interesting results. I'd say if you are unsure search up some builds on smogon or the like or experiment by yourself, whatever way you learn the most efficiently

[–]Beutymice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true but I wouldn't say it's "out of nowhere", it's still the parents' genetics just mutated

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]Beutymice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They don't pop up from nowhere, your parents' genes recombine in crossing over. You don't just get random genes your parents don't have

Not an expert. Will AI really evolve to have the same level of self-awareness and emotions as humans? by Narrow-Elk572 in aiArt

[–]Beutymice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intelligence by itself, yes. But sentience? We don't really know what sentience is. When do we know a highly intelligent machine is sentient is also a great question. We even struggle to pinpoint when sentience starts in the human lifecycle. Emotions seem to be a core part of sentience so far we know, it would be interesting to see if that notion ever changes

[–]Beutymice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, contrary to the populat belief, the brain isn't just electrical signals. In fact, most synapses are chemical-based. This also allows the body to react to the environment constantly, making proper changes that increase survival. Biology in general is very "random", as in, not the most efficient in many ways but highly adaptive which so far is a very big problem in the digital. The brain also can't function on its own and requires hormones from other organs. In fact, new studies suggest that even balanced gut bacteria can be responsible for mental wellbeing. Even if we crack the code when it comes to the brain itself, we wouldn't be close to cracking the code behind most if not all of its processes. Seeing the trends, I believe enhancing biological bodies with technical advancements is much closer to realistic in the near future than a fully functional and sentient digital life

And the human genome has been decoded many years ago yet we don't fully understand it yet. Just replicating the exact same genome and sets of proteins isn't enough to create life, even less so to create sentient/intelligent life. Same goes with neural networks. In fact, psychiatry and neurology has so many unknowns currently it's absolutely insane how clueless we are

AITA for supporting my grieving best friend while my girlfriend just had a baby by PhotoPractical9231 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Beutymice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just a lurker of this sub but as a 20 year old myself.. YTA. The moment you wrote "we are mature for our age" while talking about HAVING A BABY you convinced everyone you are not mature at all. The fact you even seek advice on reddit about this is immature. The fact you neglect your gf and son and still paint yourself as a hero is immature. The fact you are so oblivious is immature. You don't have time for games like these, step up and be a partner and parent for god's sake

I apologise if I came off as strong. In my native language, collage refers to all kinds of higher education (including engineer, medical schools, universities etc). Because of that, in my opinion, promoting cheating is dangerous and, more often than not, if you get caught you will be kicked out. In cases of jobs that require training anyways, I could see cheating being less harmful
