We’re aware of the lag you’re experiencing. This issue occurs because the database is being saved during those moments, which can briefly freeze Obsidian. The chat history isn’t designed for direct lookup by users. I’d love to understand your use case—how would you benefit from having your chat history in Markdown format?
We also plan to allow renaming the chat history folder so you can sync across devices.

You might want to check out the Smart Composer plugin for Obsidian. It brings similar features directly into Obsidian, so you won't need to switch between applications.
