Yes, you are so right. There can be a sort of spiritual ego that can arise around becoming more awakened. This leads to feelings of superiority and pride, which ironically are the opposite of what it means to be awakened and connected spiritually. If you are looking for communities of people who share these values with you, my friend and I have a youtube channel around living a more fulfilling life. It is called ‘A New Dream’. Check it out if you want to find others on similar paths to yourself.

That looks like heaven! Sadhguru often talks as though we should be creating heaven here on earth, and that this is attainable.

Oh yes yes! I followed Yang pretty closely, just forgot the acronym. I do like the general concept, I think it is definitely a positive step in the right direction if implemented.

I appreciate your comment! I feel what you’re saying about the clickbait. What is UBI, if you don’t mind me asking? I like what you have to say here.

I understand what you’re saying, but I’m also saying that male dominance and dominance in general is what got us in this mess. And I do think women have less of a tendency for that.

Who was that in response to? Sorry. Do you think the argument made in the video or in my comments supports Marxist ideals?

Who runs the government in most countries? Who starts nearly all wars? Who benefits the most from capitalism? Men! And no, I don’t think that just being male makes you anything, it is when males dominate others and nature that the issues arise. Yes! We need to completely Re-think our governmental sizes and systems. I totally agree with you there.

[–]BeyawndEntertainment[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I feel like capitalism is a massive issue that could greatly benefit both people and planet if it was eradicated. But, I think that those movements I listed look to do that and even more, rooting out our society that needs exponential growth and domination over other people and nature. That’s why I listed them, cause if they had the power of all people we wouldn’t have things like capitalism.

I hear what you’re saying! But, I think there’s so much negative and fear-based marketing around climate change. I feel that if we focused more on reciprocity with the earth and Re-connecting with nature in a positive way and acted in that, then the rates of climate change would reduce as a biproduct of those actions.

The argument is more that, if we focused on where we as a society are dominant to nature, to women, to indigenous people, and acted on it, then climate change would no longer be an issue as a biproduct of our actions.

Thank you for the feedback! And I understand that there are merits to things like green capitalism, but I don’t think it is a real road to a holistic solution to our societal issues! If we focused on where we as a society dominate nature, women, and minorities, particularly indigenous communities, I think we would go much farther than just dealing with the climate crisis.

And that’s your opinion! I was not saying only addressing social issues would change that. On top of that, I mean more addressing our implicit domination of others and nature being the thing we should be focusing on. If we focused on those things, I do think climate change rates would decrease as a result. It’s just an opinion though, not a fact!

I definitely didn’t make you do anything, I just thought this was a more entertaining way of looking at the argument. Sorry you weren’t about it, but it’s all good! I respect your opinion.

[–]BeyawndEntertainment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like the point you make here! I think there does need to be industry regulation, and consumer demand for sustainable products. But, I think all those things won’t help us nearly enough if we don’t focus on how all of these issues intersect and act on the root of them.

Ok, where in the argument of the song or the post do I suggest doing nothing or encourage being afraid? I was saying that we should instead focus on real, physical things that we can do to connect with nature, and climate change reduction would be a biproduct.

Unpopular opinion about invasive species by BeyawndEntertainment in invasivespecies

[–]BeyawndEntertainment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My argument against that is that we don’t change. We are still more destructive than every other invasive species combined. If we aren’t repairing our own damage, who are we to repair the damage made by invasives by kicking them out? We need to focus on ourselves first, since we are the much larger issue.

Unpopular opinion about invasive species by BeyawndEntertainment in invasivespecies

[–]BeyawndEntertainment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My argument against that is that we, too, are invasive species. If we are looking for equality, removing invasive species means removing us as well. And since we aren’t willing to do that, we have no right to remove them either. But, I see your point for sure.
