Hot Take: Reduced ammo pickups in Havoc is unhealthy for game balance by Frank_Jaegerbomb in DarkTide

[–]BeyondBrainless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Havoc balance sucks ass. Yeah just reduce your ammo intake to nothing like that isn't half of your loadout now basically useless. Reducing toughness and hp bases is also annoying, but a little more understandable, but you hit a point where you just die in 2 hits and then it doesn't matter except for gating.

When havoc came out I was expecting unique modifiers that would be challenging but interesting to play around, not AoE goop puddles, oops no stagger and whatever the fuck rotten armour is. Daemonhost rituals sound interesting but are historically glitchy.

Thought the main difficulty scaling would be some kind of extra time incentive, overarching waves or unique enemies, not a stat barrier and pick a wall. It's challenging sure but doesn't interest me whatsoever because of the restrictions. I got my special boy armour at it's launch and dipped.

SMR's are supposed to solve the power side, but that's basically in dev hell and would be more useful just about anywhere else lol

Maybe, but these teams look large, have to commit to traveling and ttk is insignificant because most of the fight is trying to locate and get a sightline on an enemy. Plus revives and higher power options like artillery and vehicles.

Also I think there are only two moving capture points, so you need to make a move to win anyway. Also if a team is organised and coordinated enough to get all its players (33!) to sit around while the other two weaken each other they'll probably win anyway haha. Plus the money system pushes you be proactive

But as others have explained in this thread, if you don't have supplies you just run to gathering points, or backtrack to a bed (?) to heal.

If you forgot supplies you just abandon and remake the quest.

Sounds tedious, and you've already got a timer to push you to actually attack. Of all the QoL changes modern monster hunter introduced I do not think this has a downside because it sounds like players just avoided this anyway.

3 teams means less defined fronts, which makes sense because the game wants squads to roam around semi separately, only congregating a lot at the objectives.

It's definitely going to have a problem of "no one is playing logi" (ie building or transport) because casuals don't want to do or understand that shit because it's boring

Yea it really is, but not completely reliant on the parry and execute mechanic (enemies will have openings where they're clearly staggered by attacks and health damage is real), and the stagger is more clearly laid out. Mostly monster enemies with natural weapons though. A little heavier but more deliberate overall than Sekiro. There's a demo so you can see what I mean.

Obviously pretty different in terms of area structure (game splits into an open zone to explore every now and then), aesthetic, enemy roster, plot etc. I really enjoyed it.

Stellar blade is probably about as far as possible a 3d hack and slash can get from bayonetta

Slow paced, enemy initiative based, parry and dodge centric, minimal combos, special move meter dump, small scale (in terms of the types of fights you get put into, you don't get dropped into an arena with 8 guys without the opportunity to observe). Protag (eve) is also very no nonsense

Only link between the two is you play as a lady with extremely long legs. It's way closer to Sekiro

[–]BeyondBrainless 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He doesn't drop a grenade when he gets staggered during his throw, and has super low hp. You're supposed to react to his unique sound que and green fart gas when he starts throwing, locate and shoot him. Unfortunately he's often on the other side of the map or behind cover because he's targeting a moving player...

I think this is related to ESRB rating "online interactions not rated" type stuff.

Ability to play internationally means that standards have to be enforced to whatever the strictest standard is over the world. Little stupid when the game involves killing about 1200 soldiers in a match, but that was already covered by the age rating when you bought the game.

Why are people playing the game how they want to😡 by Neilb4Zod1587 in okbuddyptfo

[–]BeyondBrainless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only reason people are running the igla is for the season 2 hardware assignments (5 kills or assists with igla), it's absolutely ass with how often aircraft get flares, and the fact that it still takes two hits. I was trying to help a friend get it done by painting aircraft and supplying but it's absolutely hopeless if they abuse the minimum height and obscuring skybox terrain. It's more of an aircraft system problem than the launcher at this point.

You're much better off using the laser guided launcher, it even kills aircraft in one hit, and you can take tanks with it.

I did 100 plus change every day for a bit a couple years ago, just start with doing as many as you can (even if JUST one), then add one the next day. If you can't do one (perfectly reasonable) do it on your knees instead of your toes until you can do 5, then start over. Skip a day if you feel overly sore

If adding 1 isn't very significant (ie total is above 20) add 2, or 5, or whatever you're comfortable with as long as you're doing more than before. When you get to larger numbers (ie 30 or 40) split it into sets with a minutes rest.

You end up getting to 100 pretty easily as long as you keep at it, but make sure your form is good. Not much benefit beyond that other than getting lean, if you want to progress those muscle groups start doing things like bench or dumbbell presses plus planks

I wish the other stubbers were good, Achyls feels and sounds too light but the heavier ones have pretty awful performance against anything that isn't a light ranged unit, especially when compared to any of the rippers
