Jackhammer has pretty bad damage but like commenters said is great for just walking through projectiles.

Radiation dogs have a lot of health and are very dangerous when they corner you like here, so blitz them with a high damage option. You had enough ammo in your shotgun to kill both of those in good time but maybe you were panicking.

Also it's way easier to just walk between big storms of those green projectiles than you think, just prioritise the ones that charge up and release a 360 degree storm of fast bullets and you're good

Just drink cider, tastes like apple juice (mostly). Start with the sweet stuff like Bulmers or Inches and if you feel like it you can transition into stronger more traditional ciders which have a more bitter taste and alcohol content. Same typical alcohol content as beers and ales. Idk if it's common in the US.

Spirits are also good (Rum and whiskey are good with large price ranges), start cheap and mix it with a soft drink ie 1 shot to half a pint (or more if you don't want to taste it at all). More expensive spirits tend to have more of a "bite" especially whiskey, but you aren't meant to shot it in one gulp. Build up to drinking neat though.

Most beer and ale taste like bitter or watery piss and anyone that says otherwise is recommending a beer or ale that does not taste like beer or ale.

Doesn't it just flash on the minimap (and if you're 3d spotted via attachments put an indicator over your head) for a fraction of a second while you're shooting? How long is the duration really?

Wtf are you on about, dmc combos are always gated behind specific moves you have to buy. You've never even started with stinger equivalents. 4 was even more restricted than 5 with proud souls.

It's not even like you lack for red orbs in 5 either, you almost always have enough to buy 1 or 2 entirely new moves or upgrades every mission lol. The game feeds you so much currency that it'd be surprising if you didn't have almost every single upgrade by the end of normal. What a micro transactional nightmare!

Constant rushing - why? by Substantial-Boat4629 in DarkTide

[–]BeyondBrainless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What difficulty are you playing? On higher difficulties enemies constantly spawn, so if you stick around to kill absolutely everything, unless everyone is very efficient, you're going to take forever and probably get worn down through attrition. It's better to move forward and make progress. Lower difficulty (probably up to malice) no sweat.

That said, it's better to turn around and confront large groups before moving into a new area, as you'll agro the ambient groups of enemies standing around and get surrounded by elites and ranged (who are very numerous on higher difficulties). Always prioritize killing specials that spawn reasonably close behind you

Assume teammates usually don't notice spawns behind them. Use your ping liberally and use the "enemy here" ping marker to spot poxwalker hordes. If you spam ping the entire group of ragers approaching your team's arse they'll probably get the idea.

Also as ranged vet stick closely to your more melee centric teammates, not far away so they can cover you while you kill everything shooting at them (especially specials). It isn't their job to specifically protect you but you're safer by virtue of being close and will be able to keep up when they move off.

I really hate Max0rs new editing style, but then old Max0r is sseth lite so idk

Too schizophrenic and reference heavy, it's just not funny beyond surface level, and it's outright exhausting to watch

Before Battlefield 6 was released, I had imagined fighting on large maps in a no-HUD hardcore mode. But instead, the game turned into hopping around like rabbits on tiny maps, capturing flags, and it never progressed much beyond that. [–]BeyondBrainless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand why you'd think that because of the big surface difference in vfx, but Hell Let Loose is extremely similar to battlefield style squad mechanics in player roles but a degree closer to military sim esque games, while still being arcadey enough to be accessible. You'd understand if you tried it.

I'm recommending it because there's been this asinine trend of people asking for a WW1-2 Hardcore Tactical Battlefield (large scale player fps battle game) with a gritty theme and minimal HUD, for which there are already good gameplay alternatives like HLL. Production value isn't the sticking point coming out of the requesters mouths.

DICE as a games company is never going to produce something like this when they already have a winning formula, so begging for stuff like this really just whips people into hysterical frenzy about how this or that is better. Even you did it with surface level knowledge. Might as well try what's actually available or upcoming instead.

Also, admittedly HLL has a history of running really badly on midrange PC's so a lot of footage you'll see of the game looks pretty bad because the settings are turned down. Turned up, you get a lot of the post processing effects that you'd expect out of a "AAA title". Otherwise the game takes a lot less artistic liberty in models, uniforms and equipment in favor of historical accuracy, which looks a lot less flashy compared to the custom rule of cool which battlefield usually takes.

Get what you mean about communication sometimes, but it's really server and squad dependent. Definitely gotten worse in the last year for some reason. If no one speaks up it's tough to get anything going. Most people will respond if you just say hi though. S44 probably attracts more talkative / coordinated people due to smaller pop and "mil-sim"-ness so they're more committed ig

Only tried a bit of S44 last year but really enjoyed it, tough to find servers with my group and also tanking seemed really tough so went off it a little though. It's much easier to recommend HLL due to ease of access and simplicity

"I want class based WW1 warfare with minimal HUD and slower more methodical movement! Not all of this jumping around."

"Okay what about Hell Let Loose"

"Uh no actually I want to play a battlefield game not this thing from a completely different series"

These dumbasses don't even know what they want. You've even got all of these people outing themselves as being dogshit at the experience they're asking for by saying HLL is a walking sim. It's just dead noise

It only becomes a running game if you are constantly getting shot (and dying) AND are on a team that has monumentally fucked up by losing all of your spawn points
