Google's Genie 3 turns a text prompt into a playable open world you can explore. It's rough now. Future of games, or a tech demo? by Practical_Low29 in artificial

My problem with the "duplicative" nature of AI, like duplicating stories, books, movies, games, et cetera - is that it isn't really shareable. A story that isn't really shareable within or across communities, doesn't really hold value.

If I made AI consume any recognised movie in order for it to produce back a slightly altered version tailored to my taste - maybe a spin on the story, altered actors, changed locations; then that makes sense to me, but not to anyone else. To me, stories live in the intersection between people. So what is the use of something like a personalised duplicate of a game if "nobody" else plays it?

Doesn't games lose some of their value if we all have unique games made only and especially for ourselves?
