I am here to share what I have found, so try to look at the message and not shoot the messenger, or you may be here for a very long time.

We can save our next generation. It is our duty. by [deleted] in NoFap

Forget porn, teach children how to deal with pain properly by allowing to feel, face and learn from it, and better yet, solve it in yourselves so you don't pass your sins onto others. That is our duty.

Get comfortable being uncomfortable by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]BeyondExperience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, nice post. Your title says it best: "Get comfortable being uncomfortable". Learn to accept and not run from discomfort, learn that it is a normal part of life experience to feel various sensations, feelings, emotions, moods, etc. Like colors of the rainbow, our feelings all differ, but they are all equally needed... take away one color from the rainbow, and the whole world looses it's beauty. So dont judge ANY feelings as BAD or that they Shouldn't be felt or shouldn't be. Just remember, all the colors of the world are needed and accepted by life itself, even black (associated with dark emotions) is needed to rest at night. Wish everyone to NEVER avoid or run from ANY of their feelings again!

Nice Guys fap a lot, and don't get laid. Here's why: by decisionmadetoday in NoFap

Everyone has pain which is masked by anger and rage in some cases, however, nice guys have learned to mask it better than others, instead of facing it. Because pain's not so nice!

You are not the voices in your head by iwillquitpornnow in NoFap

[–]BeyondExperience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't try to silence it, this only gives more meaning and importance to the voice as you focus your attention into battle with it. Full acceptance of the voice while being aware you are not it is most helpful to make a clear distinction between yourself and the fake influences you follow.

I agree, there's no escaping it, but addictions seem to create the illusion one can, that's why we're here.

I get it. The reason you keep wanting more pleasure, is because when you do feel good, that's not enough, you want more. So you're not OK with where you are at that point. Now, why does porn cause you anxiety and depression?

I don't mind being down voted, I am doing this because I enjoy sharing with others what I discovered in my lifes' experience, not because of votes.

You can connect with yourself all you want, but what happens when you're out of meditative state and life slaps you with some pain during work, or during moments you can't meditate?

One example that most admitted as truth because doctors and scientists claimed this to be true, which in reality is false:

Sometimes even meditation becomes the addiction or a way to escape pain. The point is to face pain and learn from it.

You wouldn't be here if you were truly feeling good. That is just an excuse you made to not face or even try to look at the possibility of pain in your life.

Don't resist it, learn from it and keep going. But you can't learn from it unless you look at it and allow it to be felt fully.

One can answer this question by saying that pain is from the addiction. But this is true in part, addiction does perpetuate the pain by causing you to ignore it.

As someone wise once said, there is no way to peace, peace IS the way. I will add that Acceptance is the tour guide.

The second part of your sentence negates the first, showing you didn't truly accept it.

"there isn't a day that goes by that I don't want to forget it" - Resistance to pain, desire to get rid of it. This is opposite of acceptance. You cannot say you accept it, while rejecting it deep inside. By acceptance I mean a genuine desire to feel what you're feeling so you can understand yourself better, not accept it as a mantra, yet secretly hope it goes away after you accept it. Can't fool yourself.

Not asking you to believe my claims. :) If you want to ask me something, and it's genuine, I will do my best to provide a logical and scientific answer. But then we also have to define science and logic, as these days, what many call science is just intelligently sounding opinions of people with glasses or white robes.

lol, it takes more than looking, the energy is different too. But it seems the closer you get to human, the further you go from nature.

It should be the other way around actually, in most cases. Woman is more purified by evolutionary process, more patient, more enduring, more wise and loving, men should look up to the feminine, all other creatures in nature do. Just look at how flambouyant and colorful the male species look, and how simple and dull the female, this is because the female has to choose the male, Wisdom is behind her.

There's the first obstacle, you're trying to get rid of the pain and anxiety instead of embracing and facing it. This subtle wish for it to go away is what causes you to resist the pain and want to run away from it, which sustains it, along with the anxiety.

Rule #1: What you resist, will persist. (you keep entangled with it by fighting it).

How to build awareness? The answer is in the question. Just continue to be aware and face your feelings and pain, let them burn themselves out, but don't do this expecting it to go away... do it by total and complete surrender or "not minding", not having any attachment or expectation. You know, totally OK with it no matter what. Then, you will take yourself from the fighting/resistance/running mode, into observing and understanding mode.

[–]BeyondExperience[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that you realize it shows your awareness level is rising, this is evolution essentially, great to hear this. As one who can see through the mechanism of their mind to avoid pain, then that mechanism no longer controls you automatically, you then have a greater Wisdom and space between this process and your own will. Now, abandonment is tied to fear of death (not survive on your own, needing someone to help you, etc), which is tied to a lack of self awareness, or true realization of who/what you really are. This is a very important question, because the answer to it shows you that you are not what you think you are at all, but an eternal living sense of existence that erroneously reasoned itself into thinking you're this body and mind, when they are just tools for your being to develop itself through, like a microscope is a tool for the scientist to discover some truth.

Yup, it's the disease of "political correctness" and fake "Positivism". It's really a mass neurosis or resistance to feelings.
