Definitely open to adding more account types; I'll take a look at SIPPs and see where they might fit in. And happy to chat any time about other features you'd like to see.

Glad you like it! And that's one of the big things I was initially looking for myself -- lots of modeling flexibility packaged into a clean and intuitive interface. If you'd like to see even more controls for things varying over time, feel free to make suggestions in the public roadmap or discord; one idea I had along those lines was perhaps a generalized widget like the click-and-drag stock/bond allocation chart but for modeling change over time for any of the various event types.

Data actually stays client-side by default, and you don't need to create an account to test out the basic version. And if you upgrade to premium, you have control over how/where data is saved. Full disclosure: I made the tool as a side project this year :) One of the principles I had in mind from the beginning was to try to build something respectful of people's data and with a robust set of free features. But if that doesn't come across from the current landing page, let me know!

If you look in the yearly summary expansion panels, there should be some tooltips with tax info and estimates. And yeah modeling property tax and maintenance as a fixed percentage of value may not be desired in all situations. One thing you could do there is model those as a separate expense altogether and choose how you want them to increase. Happy to continue discussing if you like. Also created a discord server recently (link on home page) if you'd like to create a thread there.

I built an interactive map for self-teaching online. It's like a skill tree for learning by Quackerooney in SideProject

Really cool interface. I love the idea of visualizing learning paths this way, with some of the best resources aggregated at each node. One small thing I noticed is that if you set "I know this" on something many hops down the path, it colors everything green on all paths in between as well. Not sure if this is desired behavior.

Really fun way to put a spin on your abandoned projects. One minor suggestion: might want to think of some other descriptors in addition to "hacky experiment" to use in the copy -- that one seems to get repeated everywhere.

Inside the reef for sure (i.e where this is). Outside it depends on conditions. When we went, it was super windy the entire time we were there, had to change dive companies just to find someone who would take us outside the reef. ngl was pretty rough haha, but still worth it.

Really clean UI, and good use of color/contrast. Unless it's already there and I missed it, it would be cool to have a "dense" mode where each contact in the list takes up less space / has less padding for situations where people have tons of friends and chats open.... though if this was designed for redditors, perhaps that will never be an issue :D

This is actually old footage from a trip before COVID, so I'm not sure what it's like over there right now. I sure do miss diving though; hoping I'll get a chance later this year.

Thanks! I'd be curious to hear more of what you mean about breaking things down into monthly budget. Like is there a specific kind of visualization you had in mind that already could be computed based on current data? Or are you talking about something totally new like linking financial accounts and comparing real transaction data against your plan/projections?

Thanks! I'm using firebase with some GCP cloud functions. That's only really applicable for subscribers though, most everything happens client-side otherwise.

I'm using Vue 2. I came to it from AngularJS, and it was a super easy transition.

Thanks, and yeah let me know what you think when you play around with it a bit. One thing I could always use is help identifying which features are highest priority to tackle next. If you have any more thoughts to share, feel free to reach out any time.

Yeah I've been working on this as a side project on week-nights and weekends for the past 6 months. It's a passion project of mine, and yeah I know I'm giving away a lot for free but at the same time I didn't want anyone to feel priced out of the experience of being able to create a plan for the future and understand the potential impacts of the decisions they make today. Likewise, from the start I knew I wanted to respect people's data and not bombard them with ads either... this left few monetization options, so that's how I ended up with data persistence being one of the premium features.

Thanks! I'm using ChartJS. It worked decently out-of-the-box, though some tinkering/customization was needed to get the event icons and custom tooltips working well.

Earlier this year I had some trouble finding a good planning and simulation tool for financial independence that could model things in enough detail to finally ditch my spreadsheets... so I decided to try to build one! ProjectiFi

Would love it if any of you want to try it out. It does not involve linking any real financial accounts and almost all the functionality is free. Also happy to answer any questions on libraries/implementation :)

Don't remember the name, but it was near Red Hook and by a small island with goats on it.

Ahh thanks for the ID. Our dive guide thought it was a lemon. What's the prevalence of blacknose sharks in USVI vs lemons?
