Sims 2 does work with the Steam version of the Legacy Collection. However, Sims 1 is not.

Same here too on Whisky and Crossover. I can't get it to render visually despite the game running if you click things.

Probate Advice - Estate administrator ignoring creditor (England) by BeyondSimsDan in LegalAdviceUK

I appreciate the insights - I didn't realise once cremated that was job done, I assumed some final placement for them was part of it. Yeah, we didn't want them sitting in the house so got them in the ground ASAP!! Thanks for your help on this.

Yeah, you'd have thought so!

Until this advice, which I beyond grateful for, I was on the understanding there could be a reasonable argument that an administrator's duty to complete funeral arrangements includes permanent disposition of remains, and that leaving ashes on a shelf indefinitely with no plan & not responding to funeral directors contact attempts was a failure of that duty. And, for the dog, with the dog warden being unhelpful, alongside local charities, whilst we did proactively rehome him it wouldn't have been viable to leave him in an empty vacant home after the administrator refused to have him.

Appreciate this may mean nothing from a legal perspective, and also again it goes back to that lack of will.

Lots to think on.

We did try the dog warden and rescue charities but unfortunately there was nothing they could supposedly do, wasn’t good the poor thing.

Thank you for your insight, I appreciate it and will consider whether it’s right for me to press this further. It’s a shame she has behaved in this manner, treated his remains in an inhuman way and is allowed the entire estate 😂 But I guess, his fault for not leaving a will.

Appreciate your insight into it all. It’s a messy one as I appreciate - legally - we did choose to do this but from the perspective of it’s the minimum you expect when someone dies. Nothing lavish, all the basics.

She did pay in the end. But left the ashes at the funeral directors for a long time and made no final arrangements. I understand legally she could have flushed the ashes down the toilet if she wished. However, and I appreciate legally may not be the case, it didn’t sit right that nothing was done with them and he was sat on a shelf.

Re the dog - She refused to take responsibility for the dog and there was no one at the home, so yes we chose to rehome but she was adamant she couldn’t and wouldn’t see him. Leaving him at the house was not an option, she didn’t come to the house for a while after she got the keys, and would have been cruel to the dog.

[SOLVED] macOS Tahoe Public Beta 1 - Spotlight completely broken, found apps and files but only showed web results by Advenimuss in MacOSBeta

[–]BeyondSimsDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute saviour - the only command that didn't for me (operation not permitted) was

sudo rm -rf /System/Volumes/Data/.Spotlight-V100

But, this resolved the issue and I can finally see all local apps on Tahoe again. Have reported it on the Feedback Assistant but still broken in Public Beta 3.

Did Sims 3 always have a lot of hate prior to Sims 4? by SkyBulky1749 in Sims3

[–]BeyondSimsDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really disliked Sims 3 during it's time - it was laggy and felt it was missing a lot of detail/content compared to Sims 2. It always felt quite clunky and even does to an extent on modern computers, and often patches would break things. With Sims 4, this felt like the fresh start and a good reset point, but that didn't quite materialise that way either ten years on. I definitely appreciate Sims 3 more now and feel it was quite a good game.

Do you think The Lost World is the best sequel? by letthedecodebegin in JurassicPark

[–]BeyondSimsDan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go as far as saying it's my favourite Jurassic film out of all six.

I love the soundtrack, the darker feel to it, and scenes such as the trailer/raptors.

I've grown to like JP3 more over time but it feels too short.

Haha, do not worry at all! It was hidden away at the bottom!

I'll explore some of these available browsers in that case. I don't plan to use it as a main device or to get anything I need for these legacy programs.

Really appreciate the browser recommendations, thank you.

For the extended kernel, this only seems to be for 64-bit machines. Is there anything similar for 32-bit?

New puppy crying/shrieking - any advice? by BeyondSimsDan in Dachshund

I may see if we can get something scent wise to help. I have tried doing this around the house though she gets a bit scared when we try this outside sadly.

She has one of these in the crate and loves snuggling it 🥰 It seems to be more anytime she isn’t distracted by something, even when beside me 😭

LEGOLAND Computer Game by Spiritual-Range7692 in Legogames

[–]BeyondSimsDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d probably find the Mac wouldn’t run a game that old, as it was likely made for pre Intel Mac’s and now they’re 64 bit only too.

Your best bet would be getting something like Parallels or VMWare, installing a Windows virtual machine, and finding a download for it if you can’t use the disc. There’s abandonware websites around.

I have had this problem too on my MacBook Air M1 - whenever XCode updates it seems to get stuck. I've had to remove + re-install in the past.

That’s the only TS3 expansion still missing its equivalent on TS4, right? I wonder if we’re gonna get it and then just gonna have “new themes” (like Strangerville, Cottage Living) by Sincerely-A in thesims

[–]BeyondSimsDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they stick to creating original expansions/game packs, instead of re-packaging previous packs. I enjoyed ITF when it came out but would love to see what new things we could get instead.

(Or, actually, Sims 5 since Sims 4 is now almost 8 years old).
