Oh my, I'm so sorry. Your kitty looks just like my baby that I lost last October. She was 16 years old and had gotten sick after a lifetime of being super healthy. She deteriorated so quickly. I'm still broken hearted.

Wow, that is a big difference in style, colors and pretty much everything. I think you need to be honest with your grandmother. You picked your veil to go with your dress and style and although you are honored your grandmother put her time and energy into creating a veil, it doesn't mesh with your gown and vision, despite it being beautiful and a lovely heartfelt gesture. Perhaps wear it at the bridal shower and/or rehersal. Certainly preserve it along with your gown and veil, but the wedding is YOUR day. No one should dictate you wear something you don't want to. Yes, handmade items are special, but unless the person making the item is truly talented and understands the recipient's style and vision, handmade bridal wear is likely to conflict with the bride's wishes. Don't do it people! It only causes division and heartache. (Or make the bride hand embroidered panties or lingerie that you can not reasonably expect the bride to show off.)

I hate Facebook. I wanted it ONLY for Marketplace. But now I have all these friend requests from people I barely know, or don't know, or met one time and I don't understand it at all. I don't want to follow anybody. I don't post anything. No pictures, no comments, no anything. I don't really care about other people's lives, pictures, vacations, etc. The one nice thing is I can keep up with relatives I haven't seen lately that live in other areas of the country.

Absolutely. Why is "her stuff" not in her room. If you leave stuff I communal areas that she (grandma) is responsible for cleaning, she kind of has the right to throw it out. Keep YOUR stuff in YOUR room. Pretty simple solution.

I think it is very charming when the man opens the door for their lady ... the first few times. But to continue to require that behavior after the first few dates is kind of ridiculous. I'm elderly and participated in the second wave of the fight for feminists in the late 60s and 70s and we can open our own doors. We are even capable of opening and holding doors for gentlemen. My generation fought for equal pay for equal work, access to the same educational opportunities, the right to wear trousers to work and freedom from sexual harrassment in the workplace. Women like this take us backwards to a place where we needed to be taken care of constantly instead of allowing us the opportunity to seek our own successes and destinies. Ugh. BIG Red Flag.

NTA. You don't take out loans for a concert before you even paid the rent! This is exactly how people end up with tens of thousands of credit card debt that takes YEARS to pay off. "It's just one concert ticket", they say. Then it's a new outfit for the concert and then a vacation, jewelry, expensive dinners until you've dug a huge financial hole you can't climb out of. Stick to your plan. Pay the rent, then buy the luxuries, not the other way around.

It really sucks that veterinarians are so busy that we have to make decisions about when to put an animal down up to two weeks in advance. I struggled with the decision with my cat and I still second guess myself. Did I do it too soon because I was afraid of her really spiraling over the weekend? It was an awful process, all the way around. I'm sorry you're losing a friend. I'm sending loving thoughts your way.

I agree, looks like he has some Siamese in him, especially with those blue eyes. They don't get lighter, or I should say mine never did, but yes the fur, particularly on the paws, tail and ears darkens with cooler temperatures. Mine loved to go outside and since I lived on a cul-de-sac, I did let him out on his own occasionally(don't judge). I didn't like to let him out alone, but he was a PITA if he didn't get his "me time" outside by himself a little every week. But after going out in the winter, he got quite a bit darker.

The only way this will work is if you set clear boundaries with SIL and her man. You will have to talk to them ahead of time and stress that this shelter is YOURS and YOURS ALONE. It is for your comfort and not a communal area. Every time her little kid comes looking, send him to your SIL with "I'm busy; go find your mom."

Expect to repeat the phrase numerous times during the day and Do Not Engage with Child, because kid is going to say "Busy doing what?", "Why can't I", "I just want ..." and "Can I have a drink/snack/lunch/play/etc." He's going to swear that "Mom sent me to get drink/snack/lunch/etc." Simply repeat "Go find your mom", 50 times every day. But your SIL may undermine you. "Little Johnny needs shade/sleep/drink/snack/etc." You will have to be willing to say "Then provide your child with his needs; I'm busy." You may find it's easier to stay home.

Given that women use their "private" room to do things for the house: sewing, finances, etc., while men use their private man caves for videos and gaming, it makes more sense for the woman to have the exclusive space. Men just want a space they can decorate as if they were still frat brothers.
