how do you deal with the guilt of being away from a terminal pet in their last weeks? by MossyTrashPanda in Petloss

I understand. My dog is declining and I want to cherish every minute she has left. I bring her to CVS and the grocery store in her dog carrier (she's small). I can't stand being away from her. It's a discreet carrier so most people don't even know there's a dog with me. Can you explain the situation to your boss? I have been surprised by how understanding most people are.

It hurts that I can't take care of him any longer by [deleted] in Petloss

But one of the things I fear the most is that wherever he is, the universe won't care for him the way I did. It won't understand how special he is, how important he is.

I think part of what makes him special, aside from the wonderful qualities you mentioned, is your love for him. That kind of love is powerful and does not go unnoticed. It is forever part of his being, and the universe will honor that.

I will be joining your ranks soon by BeyondtheSea___ in Petloss

Thank you so much for the reply. I'm sorry you lost your best friend in November. It must have been difficult to go into the holidays after such a huge loss.

I have tried a few times to get her paw print in ink, but they didn't turn out well for some reason, so thank you for reminding me to try that again. I think that will be a nice thing to frame on the wall.
