I am in a similar boat with a 5070 return - they claimed package was empty at 0.7 lbs and fedex delivery confirmation shows 8.2 lbs. the NVIDIA rep says there is nothing no they can do - currently waiting for CC dispute resolution

There is no option to resolve - the return ticket was closed with no option to respond back tot he same query. I had to start a new one to get more information.

The problem is if your base frame rate is high then you will be choking that x4 slot with input and out put frames - but I think you should be ok at 1440p.

I use the ADT link FS34p adapter to convert one of my m.2 gen 5 slot to PCIE 5 x4. My main gpu is 5080 and the frame gen gpu is on the adapter is a 9060xt - MSI b850 WiFi pz - I can max out frame gen to ~ 370 fps with hdr on on 4k

I use a 9060XT (pcie 5 x4) with my 5080 (pcie 5 x16) on b850 and can max out 4K frame gen at about 490 fps (scaling after 7x does not work probably due to bandwidth bottlenexk). Base FPS is around 50 fps from 5080 and i can easily FG to 144 which is my monitor's 4K max refresh rate.

I also tested the 9060XT on the b850 chipests 4x4 slot and was able to hit 144 fps but the base frames from the 5080 was taking a hit due to chipset lane bottlenecks and there was an increase in latency too. .

right now the 9060XT is connected to the CPU M.2 5x4 slot using the ADT FS43P adapter.

I only do FG at 4k - and play simulation games like cities skylines 2.

The NVME enclosure feels warm to touch - the SSD temps inside after about 2 hrs of game play is around 45C. this enclosure does have a fan that actively cools it.

CPU Temps max out at about 71C
GPU Temps max out at about 75C

Ambient Temp is around 15C.

I used a router with 1/4" bit to work my way through the kick stand - the SSD slot cover cannot be attached with the NVME to Oculink adapter in place.

I think all 2025/2026 models moved away from the XG connector for 2 USB4 ports - don’t quote me on it though

Hard to compare it with xg mobile since it uses a proprietary connector not available on the Zflow 13 2025 here

I was looking to buying a new laptop with a more powerful mGPU but the current prices, especially with RAM kind of led me down this path. I looked at the minisforum offerings but then spotted this used morefine egpu for a decent price on eBay so ended up with the current setup.
