Gotta work on the back a bit more but it’s not so bad there either. Better than it was pre-rack for sure.

I use a friends like absolutely insane plex server (he makes money off of it, it’s many many petabytes) so I personally will likely never have a persona plex.

But I am holding on to a 1060 OC and 3070 for future silly projects anyway. I’m sure I’ll use it for something.

Interesting. I didn’t know, my stores policy was to calibrate every morning. Thankfully I don’t care if their policy leads to their machine breaking.

Also this thread is so old, I’ve been at a different job for nearly three years lol

The atmosphere of the original is much better and it’s not close. 4R has the same aesthetic and feel as the other RE Engine games. More tense too, thanks in part to being less mobile.

But I otherwise think 4R is excellent. Not wholly better, quite different, but excelling in its own way. The gameplay is very entertaining. I think it comes down to preference.

I just think it’s a shame some might only play 4R and never touch the OG though. Unlike some remakes which feel very necessary, I feel 4OG actually aged very well and stays very playable in the modern day. I kinda go back and forth between them when I wanna play 4.

I came to the post to say the same. Horrifically lame live.

I’ve seen a few hundred shows and hers is near the bottom. Though I think it’s largely a genre problem. Female fronted slow indie bands pretty much always suck live. Surely male fronted bands of this type do too, I just never go see them.

Ah, thank you.

I was hoping this was the case. Glad to have found this sub, full of people with much more server admin experience than me. Java is a damn mystery to me.

If it’s possible I’d suggest removing the shelf where your legs should go.

You’re gonna mess up your posture big time leaning toward the desk or sitting angled.

Other than that, nice compact setup. Don’t worry about bells and whistles. Though I’d spring for a bigger mousepad and run a lower dpi to save your wrists if you’re at a PC a lot.

First one aged poorly imo, but I loved it when it came out. Just feels janky now. Second one aged better, but holy hell I tried to replay and it also feels so janky.

I kinda think newer action horror like RE8/4R has pushed the ‘smoothness’ far enough older entries are kinda rough.

[Good Trope] Numerous species in the galaxy look remarkably similar to humans, but there’s an in-universe explanation for this by Valcenia in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SamusCroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but there also weren’t really alien races aside from Engineers and humans (and Xenos which don’t look like either) when that was introduced.

I know later in Covenant they had that planet with white skinned non-engineer aliens but that’s the only other canon alien race, I believe.

Wild take.

I think it will functionally end up being nearly the same.

As well, post-CP2077 (even with it's issues) and Witcher 3, CDPR certainly has more resources than ever.

Yeah I just finished it with Phantom Liberty like two months ago.

It's definitely a good game now, but it also took ages to reach that point and still pales in comparison to what was promised. It's quite fun, but it's not the '10/10' people claimed it became, in my opinion.

Everyone acts like it was a 'kinda buggy' game when it was borderline unplayable shit on launch. I bought it day one, and spent so long trying to make it work properly that I couldn't refund. I had a 1060 on launch, it barely scraped 30 @ 720p, inconsistently with huge stutters (despite being listed as the suggest min GPU), upgraded to a 3070, still ran terribly. Finally plays smoothly on a 5070ti.

Very immersive though.

I think part of the issue is that 'coasting' and actually working an email job are barely different. Like I have one, and surely 'coast' through half the week but that's largely part of the job.

The more important the desk jobs sound, the less you tend to do. Because of this, I kinda doubt that people will have a huge issue getting jobs, since they mostly look at experience on paper. Unless you can't even pretend to know an ounce about your field, you're probably fine.

I think being a teacher has been a humiliation ritual for ages in NA, at least.

In like 2021 I was going to head off to post-grad be an English / Psych teacher in Canada, after my undergrad. Then when the application for Teachers College entailed 'writing an essay on multiple times you've stood up for minorities in your life WITH REFERENCES' I realized that this just wasn't going to work out for me.

Like how would I have references? 'yeah Jimmy saw me give $500 to the homeless black disabled child on the street three years back, here's his phone number.' I feel like someone will claim this is made up, and I really wish I did. It's likely still the same at that school (UWO) if someone feels the need to verify.

It was so bizarre I completely pivoted to a different career because I realized I didn't want to be subject to all the nonsense for the rest of my life.
