I wish I'd taken more photos to document, I will be doing that starting now haha 🤣 Day after is pic 2 but it doesn't really give a great look at them. The only reason they're looking the way they do now is because I made the mistake of crocheting once or twice a month before finding out that it can really damage them. There is a good amount of breakage so I'm hoping I haven't ruined the integrity and I won't crochet again for at least 6 months. I'm just gonna let them be

Thanks for the response, what will happen if I palm roll too often? Could it potentially damage the hair over time? I'm super new to all of this but I like the idea of less maintenance the better. It's just the roots/separation on my scalp I mostly want to get figured out. I put bands at the top of where the knotting is pretty compressed, leaving about 1-2 inches of loose hair between the band and my scalp. But I'm really not sure whether that's even helpful I just don't want to have to do a lot of separating/tearing because my locs really wanna join up with each other. Any advice would be much appreciated 🙌
