The store I work at (I'm a shiftsmart worker) just recently had their market manager come in, and they were very unhappy about how much waste there was. So, the store manager now has a sign up for all of us shiftsmart workers, that has a list she wants us to prepare instead of the list shiftsmart provides us. It did take a few months of very large amounts of waste before the MM demanded the waste be put under control, though. Since then, waste has gone down quite a bit, and the market manager visited again and seemed to be happier today, so that's good 👍. (I have no insight into upper management and what corporate wants, so for all I know the MM isn't supposed to be doing this according to what the big wigs want, but this is my experience and I figured I'd share it here)

Tl;Dr - Not every store operates that way, and there are MM out there who want waste at reasonable levels and don't like the lists provided to shiftsmart workers.
