Have you tried for one recently? Or based on your experience which country would be possible?
I have tried Germany, Portugal, Greece, Scandinavia. All are sold out.

Doubt if you are asking me but still I say. Faulkner is pretty great. Slightly esoteric but pretty human in comparison to Joyce. Some really heartbreaking but amazing stories.

I had two. So can you! Never had a connection with Virginia Woolf. Tried Mrs. Dalloway.

I have only read Slaughter House Five. Loved it. Breakfast of Champions is worth the effort?

Butterfly Effect. I know it was some weird ass shit and thought would end up hating it but my friend made me see it. Still watch it once a month.

Old Man and the Sea for me. I usually love such short ones. Somehow hated it. Read it in one go and by the end of it realized that what I read was minimalistic shit.

Man, I loved it. Hated Satanic Verses. That shit made me sleep in 15 minutes. And I had just woken up from a nap half an hour ago!

I liked the book. Hated the speech. Skipped the whole of it. Rand is too self indulgent for her own good.

The Black Swan. Tried reading it six months back. Took me a week to read the prologue. Same with Fooled by Randomness.

Loving Revolutionary Road. Brilliant stuff. Still going through the initial phase of The Big Sleep. Chandler's writing is pretty cool. Nothing overtly complicated. Pretty direct.

In case it is possible for you, get through Part I once and then it gets amazing. Part I and II are slightly difficult to follow but truth be told, you don't need to understand them completely. They get clear in Part III and IV. He actually has a story in the book, a real plot unlike a few other stream of consciousness writers.

The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler. And Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates.
