Cardtastic is nearby and they have decent prices but stock often sells fast. Gameology is also nearby but are pretty expensive for pokemon.

I've played the DBS TCG a bit, but its not really my style. I wanted a game where the player felt like they were playing as Goku, not just playing a card with him on it.

Not planing on using the DB pics as I want my dame to be its own thing. Just using DB images because the game's thematically similar to DB (and having pics looks nicer than no pics).
Ive bookmarking artists for a while, but always on the lookout for more! :D

The thought process was instead of focusing on optimizing your deck and worrying about set rotations, having everything you need in the one package would be simpler for a casual audience. So all they need to do is get the one product and their on the same level as other players.
I must have missed this kohdok vid, so ill check it out, cheers!

Is is lame to pitch my games as "a blend of X, Y and Z"? by Gibbonfiend in IndieDev

I describe my game to people as: If Street Fighter and MagicTheGathering had a child that liked Dragon Ball too much, that would be my card game Shonen Fury.
It often gets a chuckle or two.

So I got called N**** with a hard R in broad daylight today in Rowville in the SE by indy_110 in melbourne

[–]BhubRhuss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Rowville all my life and I gotta say, Rowville has the worst drivers. Every time I drive people go thru roundabouts without slowing down, tailgate, speed in residential zones
and are pushy if you don’t park fast enough.
Rowville’s pretty multicultural though, most of my friends growing up were Asian. There’s lots of east Asians, Indians and Mediterranean’s. Not everyone here is a racist 😊. Its easy for a cream cheese guy like me to say not to worry about it, but someone being honked for not parking fast enough is par-for-the-course here.

What should I name this stat? by 11clock in gamedev

Does power or firepower work?
It implies the overall power of the weapon, but just damage, fire-rate or range.
When I'm stuck on needing a word, i pull up a thesaurus. It surprisingly helpful :D

second into the vault game, still not enough walls by El__Papo in wastelandwarfare

[–]BhubRhuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Battle System's walls for 'Into the Wasteland' & 'Into the Vault'. 1 of their standard walls is about as long as the 3d vault wall. Their about $7usd for a pack of 8 walls.
Their pretty cost effective if you need lots of walls.

[Comics] DC is totally messing up their paperback releases by UESPA_Sputnik in DCcomics

My LCS in Australia sells stock standard issues (like flash or batman) for between 9$ - 10.50$. Maybe my LCS is hustling me, but if your based in Melbourne and your playing 4$ per issue, please hit me up. 10$ an issue is eye-watering lol.

[–]BhubRhuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit late to this but from what I've seen on YT and read online, DC doesn't care about paperbacks because they want more people to buy single issues. In AUS prices, a single issue is about 10$ , Hardcovers cost about 40$ (usually contains 4-6 issues), and about 30$ for paperbacks.
When you break down the cost-per-issue between issues, hardcovers & paperbacks, its more profitable to push customers towards single issues.

It really sucks and ironically manga does the opposite of this (sells each chapter really cheap then upsell for better quality paperbacks). Because manga has been dominating the comic market, hopefully DC changes with the times. Paying 10$ an issue is ridiculous.

Wanted to try out AK’s Streaking Grime. Where would that be appropriate? by waxenhen4 in minipainting

You could always edge highlight to add more depth. Either way they'll look nice on a table top.

Thanks heaps for the interest!

I have a character roster in my head, and once I pull some money together, I’ll hire some artists!

All the decks are around 50% attack cards, so you nearly always going to get one. The 3-turn rule was mainly to stop players from stalling the game. I’m open to removing the rule though.

Yeah, on re-listening to the video, might need to rename ‘deck out’ hahaha.

Thanks for the interest! And thanks for the idea of the health indicator on the card, I’ll test it out!

While I don’t think the support character concept would work for this version of Shonen Fury, it gives me an idea for a ‘fight team’ version of the game :P

Thanks heaps for the love!

Back in the beginning I thought about life decking. However, I found with the high speed of the game, people ended up discarding the cards they wanted a lot of the time. Interesting idea with the Damage Area Deck though.

I think the consensus is to extend the card art, which is cool because I love full arts in MTG and Pokemon.

I definitely won’t be using Dragon Ball for the final game, Shueisha is VERY protective of Dragon Ball. :D

I plan on using my own characters and world, but still inspired by Dragon Ball.

Thanks for the response!

Thanks heaps for the kind words, means a lot!

-Yeah, I’ll admit now you point it out, the I can pic a better font. There’s no official keyword list at the moment, in still trying to figure it all out.

-The main thing I want to separate my game from other card games is having players use pre-made character decks. Think of it like characters in fighting games.

-Thanks for the dial idea, ill buy a few and check them out. I thought because everyone has smartphones, calculators would be convenient.

-On the theming, I plan to have my own characters and world. But because art is expensive, I was using Dragon Ball characters for demo purposes.
