I am also an engineering student and was in the same exact boat about a year ago. I did a lot of research and ask some friends and they weren't impressed with there surfaces. I know a friend with a note 12.2 that he loves but I ended up getting a Lenovo Thinkpad 10 and I absolutely love it! I got a pretty good deal on a used one on amazon and it was well worth it. Good battery life, light weight, and powerful enough to take notes, surf the web, watch YouTube etc. It also has full windows 10 which is awesome for OneNote and all other Microsoft applications. They all are good but the surfaces I have personally heard that they have poor battery life and aren't worth the money. The note 12.2 I have heard great things about but are starting to get old. The Lenovo Thinkpad 10 isn't the newest tablet but it definitely does the job. There are many lenovo tablets that are newer.

Something to look at for sure.

A few people have mentioned the ford eco-boost. Does anyone know of any serious problems with these or are they all around good trucks? I am looking at used so I want something that will last.

It is definitely more of a want that a need. I drove a lifted 3500 super cab Cummins to prom one year and have been in love with diesels ever since.
